Conservative critics lashed out at recent Trump proposal
Former President Trump’s campaign walked back a promise that the former president would "automatically" award green cards to migrants after they graduate from college.
"President Trump has made it clear that on day one of his new administration, he’s going to shut down the border and launch the largest mass deportation effort of illegal aliens in history," Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement last week, according to a New York Post report, noting that the former president would include an "aggressive vetting process" and "exclude all communists, radical Islamists, Hamas supporters, America haters and public charges."
The comments come after Trump’s appearance on the "All-in Podcast" last week, where the former president outlined an idea to give all foreign college graduates a green card with their diploma.
"You graduate from a college, I think you should get automatically, as part of your diploma, a green card to be able to stay in this country, and that includes junior colleges, too," Trump said during the appearance.
The proposal received immediate pushback, with Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian telling the New York Post that such a handout was "a cockamamie proposal" that would prompt a "fire hose of foreign cash" by "stapling a green card to the diploma" of a U.S. college graduate.

The critique was echoed by Chris Chmielenski, the president of the conservative Immigration Accountability Project, who argued such a plan "would reduce wages for all Americans, increase job competition, particularly for recent college graduates, and pose a national security threat."
"U.S. immigration policy must serve the interests of all Americans, not the interests of elite business leaders who seek cheap labor," he said.

Don't these politicians - Trump included - understand that it is VOTES, not CORPORATE DONATIONS, that they really need?!?
The cynical view is that Trump is wobbly, not an ideologue, and goes with whoever he speaks to last. In the recent case, he met with those business CEOs who gave him 10s of millions of dollars and made lots of promises without reflecting on his bigger commitment to the America people. That’s not only on Trump but a failure of the team around him to speak up for consistency and remember who votes for him.

How many more foreigners do we need, when we have illegals, H1-Bs, education visa, and chain migrants from these same people, already?

Ain't THAT the truth! My Walmart has maybe 5 "associates" who speak English, the rest are foreigners and out of the foreigners, I'm not sure how many can speak English. They're always jibber jabbering in some foreign language so I'm not sure if they're discussing work related subjects or if they're making fun of us Americans.
My grocery store still has 99.9% English speaking workers.
Campaign walks back the statement. Same thing happened to Biden. Glass houses and all. I agree with the advice to Trump to lay off Biden’s mental frailty.
That’s what worried me in 2016. Trump has always been a democrat. During his term, he “danced with who brung him”. So I voted for him in 2020. (Won Ohio by 8pts)

Americans will be living in tents on the streets while the illegals will be living in public housing.

People speaking up helps. We see that over and over. Getting the right people into his next administration will be critical: Miller, Abbott, Paxton, to name several.
I’m sure this was 100D Chess. Once the migrants get the Green Cards, they’ll lock up all the Deep State players and Trump will be reinstated.

If any other Republican did this, they would be pejoratively (and correctly) be called a RINO. However, the idolatry of the True Believers prevents them from doing this here.
Of course. Like Biden, Trump has no principles. But fortunately he’s still sane enough to accept some management and damage control.
We are failing as a nation in so many areas. I don’t like it that we are importing engineers, scientists, doctors, nurses and other highly skilled professionals because we can’t produce enough of them in our own country! Go to the closest big college or university that offers engineering courses. You’ll be hard pressed to find an engineering department at any major American university that is not overrun with foreign students, mostly from the Middle East and Asia.
Giving DACA or any illegal amnesty, giving green cards to foreign graduates taking American jobs, and continuing H1B and increasing it to take American jobs do not gain Trump or Republicans any new votes or voters. On this alone, considering the numbers beef up census counts in favor of Democrats, Trump and Republicans need to universally call for their deportation. All of them!
