Trump to make history with Philadelphia rally in predominantly black neighborhood
Washington Examiner ^ | 06/21/2024 | Christopher Tremoglie

Former President Donald Trump has made it a point to do something that most, if not all, previous Republican presidential candidates have failed to do in recent years: actively engage the black American community and try to earn their vote.

On Saturday, in Philadelphia, Trump is doing exactly that by holding a rally in a predominantly “black and brown” (as the Left likes to say) neighborhood. And it seems to be a historic rally given that no other Republican candidate has seemingly held such a campaign event in such a neighborhood in Philadelphia in recent memory.

Not 1989. It was 1974.

It was Newt Gingrich, who said last night on “Hannity,” that Trump’s role is to break up the FDR coalition that has ruled for 92 years and create a new Trump coalition for governance.

1776 North Broad Street is in the Temple University section of North Philadelphia. Before the war it was an area of central and eastern European enclaves. The neighborhoods were German, Polish and Ukrainian. There was even an Irish enclave. After the war the entire north side went black. Today it's known as "the Jungle" by its inhabitants.

The venue is at the corner of Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The street was once known as Columbia Avenue but was renamed for Philly's biggest black troublemaker leader of the 1960s. The venue is in the heart of darkness.

I admire Trump's bravery.

“Trump is fearless…”

The rest of us, not so much. I’d like to attend but would fear for my life going to or leaving the event.

expecting a big turnout of black voters to attend the rally is unrealistic

I'm not so sure about that. Look what happened in the Bronx.

I’ll bet the place will be jam packed. The media will largely ignore it.

Care to share Trump’s plan?”

The good news is that school is out for summer, so many of the radical morons who inhabit the campus are not there.

The country club Republicans are stupid to realize this.

I don't think they're too stupid. They don't want to do the hard work necessary to win. They also don't want to hurt their friends, the Democrats, too badly.

Most fraud (the voting the people who don’t show up to vote style of fraud) happens in the black community with the knowledge of white ‘elites’.

Yup. This tactic was rolled out massively in several swing-state inner-city districts in 2020, as well as the suburbs. Expect to see it nation-wide in 2024. It wouldn't surprise me if Biden got close to 100,000,000 votes because of this. And everyone will pretend it's some miraculous mandate.

I am hoping that some creative type could make an AI video as Trump coming to North Philly as Super Fly or Shaft. That would really drive the libs crazy.

Temple south campus is not really a neighborhood. The baptist church foundational university dominates the several blocks off broad street with buildings and student housing above cecil moore ave and the north campus has most of the hospital buildings. It’s a university campus. Granted several blocks east or west and the hood takes over. It would be like going to the university b-ball game. Interesting to see who shows up.

Returning those industries to the inner cities would revitalize the inner cities, infusing them with wealth, and eliminate the racial divide.>>> I have a house not far from the event and i would not return industries to the inner cities. At least in philly the inner part of the city on out to 15 blocks north and well into south philly are residential and doing ok. There is no industry you could drop anywhere within several miles center of the city. nor would any one living in center city want a factory near their house. And you don’t want central planning taking peoples property. The city is a hub of universities, Hospital complexes somewhat around those hubs including some impressive oncologic and for temple sports and ortho medical care. The major issues are government sponsored children due to free housing, etc in welfare, schools that cannot teach the feral welfare children without parents. Government is in the way as always. we don’t need more social engineering.

I’m hope the campaign makes a pitch for poll workers, poll watchers and vote counters. And signs up lots of people. Then have Trump thank the folks who signed up. Let the crowd know that those people are going to help save ‘our democracy’ by insuring election integrity. Praise the heck out of them. And then invite others. The best way to make sure precincts don’t get 110% of the vote in alphabetical order is to have lots of poll workers watching.
