A Seattle police officer was fired for calling his Chinese American neighbor racist and sexist slurs while off duty in 2022, according to a news report.
Officer Burton Hill was fired in May, The Seattle Times reported.
The termination stemmed from an altercation with his neighbor, Zhen Jin, over the disposal of dog bones at the condominium complex where they lived in suburban Seattle.
The Seattle Office of Police Accountability had recommended a range of disciplinary actions, from a 30-day suspension to termination of employment.
Hill was fired by then-police Chief Adrian Diaz on May 2, police spokesperson Eric Muñoz said.

Was the neighbor disposing of dog bones because she had just cooked and EATEN a dog?
My question as well...WHAT sort of “dog bones” are we talking about?
Exactly.
In Italy, THEY will cook a pet cat on the street and eat it and NO ONE can say ONE WORD.
Cultural gifts.....

Maybe the cop was pissed that he didn’t get the chance to shoot the dog first??
The fact that they won’t release the comments leads me to suspect they were fairly innocuous. These days, even an inflection or tone of voice can be interpreted as racist. The safest course would be not to say anything at all, but that would be racist.
You have to go to a linked article for what he said.
The two words mentioned both start with the letter “C”.....one is IMO the most offensive 4 letter word you can call someone. The second is a 5 letter derogatory term for Asians and rhymes with wink.
I get the whole free speech thing. And the cop was off-duty. But if he really said racist things, he has to go.
As a side note, as we all know that the murderer OJ Simpson was acquitted. One reason was LAPD detective Mark Fuhrman said racist things in the past. It came out at trial and tainted Fuhrman’s whole testimony.
Mu shu pekingese, yummy!
I had a woke type at work I got along with reasonably well (former military). After a particularly good conversation on race and language. I told him i was going to go get “Flaw in the armor” food at lunch and did he want any. At first I got a blank stare, Then the sudden realization that I had used an inappropriate word without saying the word. We got a laugh out of it and it stuck.
I don't CARE what the cop said, or is alleged to have said. People of west African ethnic racial origin can shout "nigger" all day with no consequences. "Racist" language is irrelevant.
He shouldn't be punished. In fact, he should be made an instructor of a DEI course.
Could be blessing in disuise for the officer...get him out of hell hole of Seattle to better environment.
We’re enjoying watching NYPD Blue reruns now. Pretty much un-PC language.
I disagree with your comment about the 4 letter C word. I think it accurately describes many people and is appropriate to use when true.
That’s why I said “IMO”
Apparently calling someone stupid and gonna be arrested is now racism.
But, since when are asians a protected group? I thought the commie trash in charge had declared them honorary white supremacists.
As to the “dog bones”. What the F#%$? Anybody wanna bet on what the copper had to say about asians and eating dogs?
That wasn’t because of what he said, per se. It was that he denied saying epithets, and then the defense produced recordings demonstrating otherwise. They were attacking his credibility, not that he said “racist things in the past.”
You’re right in that Simpson’s defense team was attacking Fuhrman’s credibility. That’s the smart move for a lawyer. But consider the jury. The racist things Fuhrman said in the past had to have affected them.
All just part of a perfect storm. Simpson brutally murdered two people. And he got away with it.
