Probably has more to do with gang affiliation, than the actual haircut itelf.

I recall a sign outside a bar that said something like (I’m guessing on the first two):
NOT ALLOWED
No White T-Shirts
No Brown Carhart Pants
No Brown Timberland Boots
I mentioned it to my son.
“Oh yeah - that’s the “____” gang. Bad news.
I laughed.
“No - seriously dad.”

I flew with a pilot whose hairdresser aunt gave him a Beatles haircut in the late 1960s when he was in high school in Alabama. Girls kept walking by his classroom and giggling excitedly - many had over the top reactions so he was sent home by lunch by the principal. He couldn’t come back to school until he had a different haircut that wasn’t so disruptive.
Great guy. One of the best men I ever met. RIP Don.

'They don't want to acknowledge or admit that the majority of the kids that are getting these haircuts want to be in a culture influenced by gang affiliation and things like that.'*** I would venture to guess that most of this is driven by no fathers in the homes. But this is a topic that no one wants to discuss.

IIRC, they were called bowl cuts when I was a kid.

Haircuts are the priority of the day???
Hell, I might argue that the Marines have a $hitty haircut too, but I wouldn’t exempt them from business over it.

So do the Amish! This has been the classic haircut among the Amish men for centuries.

Ha! Too literary to be true.
Turns out it’s named after Edgar Martinez, the basketball player.
