The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday ruled in favor of a challenge to a federal ban on "bump stock" devices that enable semiautomatic weapons to fire rapidly like machine guns, dealing a setback to yet another firearms restriction — one enacted under Republican former President Donald Trump.
The justices, in a 6-3 ruling, upheld a lower court's decision siding with Michael Cargill, a gun shop owner and gun rights advocate from Austin, Texas, who challenged the ban by claiming that a U.S. agency improperly interpreted a federal law banning machine guns as extending to bump stocks. The conservative justices were in the majority and the liberal justices in dissent.

2A news.
Personally I think bump stocks are a way to waste ammunition. But they are fun!
Cue up the Bump Stock Boogie!
“The conservative justices were in the majority ...”
I don’t find Roberts, ACB, nor Kav to be all that conservative.
>Personally I think bump stocks are a way to waste ammunition. But they are fun!
A 2lb trigger and a relaxed grip on an AR achieves the same effect as a bumpstock.
It was also a slapdown of the Federal Deepstate making regulations that it has no authority to make.
Hahaha
That was a great move by Trump.
He appeased the masses who had been stirred up by the “gun-grabbers.”
The gun-grabbers are always waiting to pounce on anything which gets mass public attention and can be exploited for their cause.
They already have the new legislation written. In some cases law-makers already have it in hand. They are just waiting for the next headline issue they can use to push their agenda.
But Trump threw this “take action to show action (((but do nothing really)))” rule out there. It was classic, awesome, Trump.
And now this gets trashed, anyhow. Good. I don’t think Trump is having nightmares about this. Hahahaha
Well, they did okay today at least.
(For the second time.)
True, and we hope that they continue to see the light.
Here’s how important full automatic fire is. The US military no longer issues such assault weapons. They come in semiauto and 3 round burst selections. Full auto is reserved for light machine guns and crew served weapons. If you have ever used full auto in even a light recoil weapon like an M16 you would know how hard it is to maintain accuracy. But by all means. Shoot up your entire 300 round supply in two minutes. Be my guest.
I, too, believe that Trump did it to appease the masses knowing that it would probably be struck down. But danged if it didn’t cost a bunch of money and energy to defeat it.

It would be HUGE if this was precedent setting. that agencies do NOT make laws. Only congress can make laws.
Yes.
Politics.
Least possible evil done.
The morons wanting to take everyone’s guns had momentum and something was going to happen.

Go for the least invasive course of action so you can “show action,” and diffuse this issue. Maybe even take action and define things knowing that you’re building in ways where folks can challenge you, i.e. bump stock = machine gun (can’t prove that, but I would not doubt it).
Hmmm...
Guess I’ll have to get one of those evil bump stocks for one of my handguns...
Probably the Phoenix HP22LR ankle-biter... Would save an old man from having to bend over so far in reaching for it...

A federal judge ruled just yesterday that the FAT had overstepped their boundaries on the pistol brace = NFA.
