Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) confirmed on Wednesday he would be attending a meeting on Thursday with former President Donald Trump.
McConnell told reporters he would be at a meeting with Trump and other Senate Republicans hosted at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), signifying the first time he has seen the former president in roughly four years, according to Fox News.
When asked by a reporter if McConnell planned to “confront any of the bad blood” between him and Trump, or the issues regarding the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, McConnell stated he had promised to support the Republican Party’s nominee, “regardless of who it was.”

He no longer has power in the Senate.
He is nearly gone.
He was working with McCain, Romney, Crazy Liz and Linda on the Dossier.
He can piss on mcconnell’s shoes.
McConnell must be eyeing that $400 million.
McConnell is the hated person in Washington.
Considering that Washington is full of morons and blazing a**holes, that is quite an accomplishment.

McConnell=Deep State enemy of the people. He cannot leave the stage fast enough.
Yeah, like it or not, McConnell still has influence over RINO congress folk and voters in general.
It would be meaningful in November to have some sort of endorsement from McConnell, even a tacit one.

You are right about McConnell. He is still around for 2 more years and still has influence. He got Trumps loser SC picks through the senate. No of us like him, but getting Trumps picks, including replacing RBG 2 months before the election and holding off Garland were unprecedented accomplishment and got rid of Roe (if you think that was a good thing). Trump has nothing to lose and everything to gain by cozying up with Mitch. This is 1 area where Trump has a clue about people. Romney begged for and gushed over Trumps endorsement in 2004 in Trump’s casino knowing Trump could have endorsed Obama just as well. Romney stabbed him in the back 4 years later even putting out a long video begging the Republican party to reject him when it looked like he had the nomination locked up. Romney then begged for his endorsement in the Utah senate primary 2 years later, saving him from a primary loss in Utah. After saving him, Romney stabs him in the back again as a Senator and votes to impeach. Trump was just trying to buy his favor. Didn’t work with Mitt but it has worked with Mitch on just about everything except building the wall.
