“According to preliminary results from five countries, right-wing parties are estimated to have won at least 33 of the 174 seats available in Austria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece and the Netherlands, according to official exit polls from those countries, up from 19 seats at the last election in 2019.”

“And - as the ultraliberal FT admits - “the surge, at the expense of liberal and Green parties, would complicate European commission president Ursula von der Leyen’s bid for a second term as head of the EU’s executive.”

Far-right“

Anything slightly right of Bernie is far right by BBC standards. Le Pen is not Far-right, far from it.

The problem with the muslim invasion is once the people could be honest and see what a mess they’re in, it is probably too late to fix the problem.

I went to W. & E. Germany a few decades ago. It was disturbing to see and hear the Turks on the street corners. This was when Iran was holding the American hostages.

The results are also due to an anti-green surge. The “far right” also hates green BS.

Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of the increase in right wing voting is at the expense of conservative parties, not the left.

TBD when all the results are in.

Other than on immigration, Marine Le Pen is a moderate conservative.

Spain - Conservatives win Euro elections
But the Spanish delegation is not clearly right wing.

https://www.abc.es/

Out of 61 Euro reps for Spain -

PP (like US Republicans) - 22

Vox (Spanish MAGA) - 6

PSOE (Socialists) - 20

Other left wing (Sumar/Podemos) - 5

Somewhat libertarian, goes right usually (SALF) - 3

Regional left (Ahora Republicas) - 3

Regional (Junts, CEUS) - 2

I make it just slightly right - 31/61, with 2 uncertain depending on regional interests.
A big improvement though.

I guess there’s something I’m missing. If LePen’s National Rally is set to trounce Macron, why would he call a snap election? I don’t get it. Does he want defeat?

He's trying to call France's bluff. He's basically saying, "OK! You want Le Pen? Let's do it right now in a real election!"

Seems he did something like this and then at the 11th hour, French voters buckled.

Oh no! No, indeed.! Macron wants an snap election to “fix” things. Let the people have their say. He will win and then can say “the voters have spoken’. A bit like the 2020 election when the media let us know we had voted for a return to “normalcy”.

With all the European countries having parliamentary governments, the Euro vote is like a confidence vote on their own leaders. Thus Macron has been given a no confidence vote by the people.

Usually it takes Parliament to vote to have a confidence vote for the leader, but when you see the people enmass doing it, Macron has to go this route to try and head off one from the Parliament.

This is how pissed voters in the. West are, and when we can, we will not be. ignored.

Even they. can steal the. Presidential. election, watch the Democrats across every state take it in the *^s come November.

The problem now isn't the Turks. Even some of them don't like the latest influx.
