HARARE, ZIMBABWE — Leaders of the United Methodist Church expressed regret over last week's decision by the branch in Ivory Coast to leave the union following the church's decision to repeal a long-standing ban on LGBTQ+ clergy but pledged to accept it.

On May 28, Ivory Coast's church voted to split from the United Methodists. With over 1.2 million members, the West African country's church has one of the denomination's largest overseas followers. The United Methodist Church has about 5.4 million members in the United States, and about 4.6 million in Africa, Europe and the Philippines, according to church figures.

The expected bleeding continues apace. This is a huge chunk of that formerly Christian group.

The only way to get this kind of thing to happen is by fraud.

The people don’t want it.

Leadership gets paid off, and then the people are mind controlled with fear tactics so they don’t complain.

Years ago I belonged to a Methodist church. The pastor was an old traditionalist. Wonderful man. Truly a man of God. But he retired and was replaced by a woman. She was not even slightly Christian. She didn’t even try. Never spoke of Jesus. Did speak often of the souls of animals and the value that homosexuals brought to our community. I didn’t last long, but I lasted longer than I should have.

There are many good Methodist churches. Sad to see a bunch of them wither on the vine.

I was raised in the Methodist church. I quit in the 1980s when they went all in on gun control. I went one last time for my father’s funeral service, but I hated being in that place the whole time. F them with an AIDS infected unit.

Wake up some part of the world 🌏🌎🌍 while we still can

The apostasy and the Days of Lot are upon us. As prophesied by Jesus Christ Himself.

Do NO harm, Christians, but reject these Godless Reprobate Agendas. (For the thread)

“While we grieve . . ..”.
Riiiiiight!
Not only do the leftist NOT grieve, they are glad these “backward” Africans leave the denomination. The radial leftist bishops denied them full representation on the Bishops Council and in the General Conference.

Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal.

About 15 years ago my MIL was getting older and wasn’t able to drive. We took her to her Methodist Church for Easter services in spite of the fact that we were all Catholic. The minister was a woman. I paid close attention. She did not mention Jesus one time nor did she mention the resurrection. I don’t remember details but it was all about social justice. She wasn’t openly gay but she did wear sensible shoes.

I wish I could come back 200 hundred years from now. African Christians seem to be holding on to their true faith. Has the seat of Christianity moved from Europe and the USA to Africa, and what will that look like 200 years from now? Pilgrims flocking to Africa to hear the Pope on Easter?

Over the past couple of years, I took the time to watch a lot of online meetings of Methodist congregations discussing whether or not to disaffiliate. It was always a stark difference, like night and day, between the conservative congregations and the leftist ones. I could tell within a few seconds of watching which they were.

The leftist ones were almost always headed by a woman, gave little to no deference to Scripture or the Book of Discipline, and always lionized everything queer every chance they got. The conservative meetings always began with a sincere prayer beseeching guidance from God. This was completely absent in the leftist meetings.

One woman “pastor” sneered at the Book of Discipline and its history, and actually held it up in the front of the meeting as if IT was on trial. Make no mistake, they absolutely despise biblical Christianity.

No, not “many,” if you are talking about the United Methodist brand. Any good ones you find are extreme outliers anymore.

And now, if they remain in the UMC they are NOT good at all.

You should try to find some video footage of the meeting last month where they approved all the new radical changes. It was like a demonic circus. The changes happened super rapidly, with little to no discussion or debate, without any “time of discernment” as had always been exercised previously over discussions of such dramatic changes. What people were now crowing about was absolutely astounding. They are now saying “no tolerance” for the old, biblical theology that just got kicked out the door.

If any remaining conservative UMC pastors are thinking they can continue to maintain the practice of their biblical beliefs in their own congregations, they have a rude awakening coming very soon.

Absolutely correct.

That’s why I feel the hour is very, very late.

This Globohomo is ... GLOBAL. And pervasive; many institutions.

And they are not the least bit concerned about what the Lord thinks or has said.

Instead, foot on the accelerator to the Lake of Fire.

It’s astonishing to see. It’s Genesis chapter 19 in real-time. And others are joining in with them.
