Yuck! It sux that it isn’t cooling off tonight. I reckon the kitties aren’t doing much roaming.

Glad you mentioned getting a new sticker. I picked my sticker and registration card Tuesday and they’re still on the desk. I’ll take care of that tonight.

No rain here until early Sunday morning, they say. It got up to 85 this afternoon but it’s muggy. Still is. I just came in from watering the plants on the carport at the old house. There was a nice breeze this afternoon, which helped, but there’s none now and the air is thick. They SAY it won’t be so bad tomorrow, and it’ll be a few degrees cooler.
Next week is supposed to be a dry one. We’ll see how that works out.

No, they aren’t roaming and they aren’t eating much. It’s just too hot. Simply to walk across a sidewalk can hurt their feet. And mine. LOL!

Your 85 probably felt close to my 101 with your humidity. Hopefully next week will be more comfortable for both of us. We might just have some rain on Monday. Not holding my breath.

Yeah, food doesn’t sit too well when it’s that hot. Plenty of cool water on hand is what they need most.

It didn’t feel anywhere close to 100 today but it was uncomfortable in the sunshine. It would have felt worse if there hadn’t been that nice breeze.

It’s going to be a little hotter next week and I have no idea how humid it’ll be. They said it wouldn’t rain next week but that doesn’t mean we can’t have 80-plus% humidity. Ugh.

Food hasn’t sat too well with us hoomans, either. Nothing sounds or tastes good. Especially anything hot.

The kitties have lots of water. I make sure of that. Shelley will too, when she’s cat-sitting. She has a bunch of her own. She rivals you. LOL!

A very pleasant good morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Beach for this morning's thread.

Yesterday at Chisolm Trail Park:

How's everyone doing this morning?

Nope. It doesn’t sit well with us either, that’s for sure.

So has Shelley gotten back to you on the cat-sitting? I know you’re looking forward to seeing the kids again.
I’ve probably backed down close to her numbers, having lost 11 of my babies the past 2 1/2 years.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Looks like it was a bit toasty at Chisolm Trail Park yesterday. Gizmo seemed to have a good time regardless.

Yep, I think it’s supposed to warm up some today and tomorrow and then cool off next week.

Yes, she has! I forgot to say something. I guess I was afraid I'd jinx it. LOL! I told her that if her hubby is set for his procedure during our time there, just call and we'll come home. She didn't foresee it happening this soon. Which is really dumb, because he's been ill at least since Christmas. Modern doctoring sux!

I didn't realize it had been that many lost. The one thing to know, though, is that they were totally loved and they knew it.

I know you’ll both enjoy cooler the weather next week. Not nearly as draining to wander all around to let Gizmo blow off some steam.

They still haven’t set a date for his procedure? Good grief!
I know it needs to be done but they don’t seem to be in any hurry, do they? I just hope they don’t suddenly get in a hurry and cut your trip short.

Yes, it’s been a lot of losses. Five in ‘22, five last year, and Kiwi this year.

Sweet, sweet Coal. Such a pretty face. It stinks that she disappeared. :-(

I still miss those eyes every time I open the front door. She was a sweetheart all right. I just hope she has a loving home with someone else.

I know it tears you up with each loss. I hope there are no more this year. Shelley lost 8 in one year. It was awful.

The doctor he needs is based in Lubbock and only comes down here for appointments 1 day a week. I think I’d be getting myself a different doc, but maybe he’s the only one that can do what her hubby needs done. Fingers crossed that he’ll be ok till after next week. I’m selfish. ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

You never really stop missing them. I’ve had 110 cats in my life the past 25 years I’ve been here and have 21 now. I still think about the ones who are gone at various times and wish they were still here.
There’ll be at least one more this year and I feel it’s going to be soon. Isis has had an issue for over a year and now the treatment doesn’t seem to be working. She isn’t doing well this week and I’m going to make an appointment with the vet to do an assessment and make a decision. She’s at least 17. I don’t know how old she was when she was dumped off here; just know how long I’ve had her.
With luck, she’ll be the last this year. I have others in their teens but not nearly as old as she is.

It could well be that dr. is the only one in that area who does what needs to be done for her hubby. It’s pretty common around here to have to go out of town for certain treatments. Specialists will go to the large cities to set up practices, not small towns.

So next week is when you’re heading out?

Yes, if all goes as it should. I’m looking forward to the visit. The drive...not so much. That 7 hours can feel like forever if there is much road construction or it becomes stormy. Just hope that part of the state is nice and quiet for a change.

I hope Isis can hang in there for a while longer. It’s such a tough decision to have to make.

Guess I’d better finish this show and head out. It’s 83 now and doesn’t feel too bad. Much better than 93. LOL! See ya tomorrow for some rockin’ an’ rollin’!

Hope downsizing and packing are getting along well.

It's going. Don't know if it's going well but it is getting done. Going to be doing the final stretch this coming week.

The humidity does take some of the fun out of summer down here, no doubt. But Iโ€™ll take this over cold ANY day. LOL

Oh I agree with that.

I hope everything goes smoothly and that you love your new abode!

That's the other stress point. Where to put stuff in the new place.
And putting it together.
