House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has called on the United States Supreme Court to intervene in the politically motivated conviction of President Donald Trump in New York.
Trump now faces sentencing after the sweeping guilty verdict on 34 counts, sparking significant political and legal debates.
On Thursday, a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of all 34 charges of falsifying business records, marking a notable moment in the political and judicial landscape of the United States.
The indictment, led by George Soros-funded Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg, concluded with this historic verdict.
Following the verdict, Trump’s legal team, represented by attorney Will Scharf, immediately announced their intention to appeal the decision.
The defense highlights the case’s potential to ascend to higher courts.
The announcement of the conviction rapidly captured national attention, setting the stage for further legal and political discourse, according to the Daily Caller.
The response from political figures was swift.
Speaker Johnson discussed the matter on national television and blasted the case.

Yeah but it just doesn’t work that way
The more pressure on the USSC to do the right thing, the better.
It only works that way for crooked, perverted democrats.
He is being horrible here. Because He knows that the USSC can’t do a thing at the present time. They need cases brought before them.
Surely they can see that this case was tried in a court of lawfare and not a court of law.
Yeah but it just doesn’t work that way“
And Mikee knows it so it is easy to say isn’t it.
Maybe the request could be for a “stay” on “sentencing” until the case can go to appeal in a Federal court (since Bragg claims it was a felony against FEDERAL law, and if rejected there then immediately to SCOTUS.
Has he done anything “official” to try to get SCOTUS involved, or just some TV interviews or editorials? (I supposed I would know this, if I read the article!)
THANKS
They had a GOP Senate Letter denouncing the trial and stating non-cooperation with Biden - Eight Senators signed it. Eight.
No one has heard from Lindsey Graham and the Sunday shows have already been played.
Lindsey is waiting for orders from his handlers. His value is being on the inside.
That’s not the problem....the problem is getting in front of the SCOTUS.
You can’t just file paperwork and go there.
No, he isn’t on point here. Trump was convicted in state court not federal court. Explain how the United States Supreme Court has jurisdiction over this case right now.
The forum for hearing Trump’s appeal is the New York State’s Appellate Division, First Department.
He apologized to Joe Biden when someone said he rolled his eyes once at the State of the Union.
Has he apologized to Hakeem on this statement?
I hope his urging reaches the court and has a positive result.
Honestly I think the Speaker is a corrupt piece of crap politician who sees the 52 million in small $$ donations pledged in 48 hours along with the millions of everyday voters rallying behind President Trump. And like Mitt Romney, he’s smart enough to grasp that if this can be done to President Trump more can be done to him.
“They need cases brought before them.”
I am not trying to defend the little worm, but that goes without saying. Mark Levin has been offering strategy on how to get it before the Supreme Court so that they will take it up.
He either knows it or he’s ignorant as hell.
Mark Levin laid out a way for Trump to go to the SCOTUS yesterday but even that included working through the appeals court first.
And he also inferred DJT doesn’t have the right legal representation to do it.
Depends on how broad the immunity ruling is... the “false business records” were generated while Trump was president, at least from what I heard.
If the SCOTUS steps in (on emergency appeal by Trump), tosses the verdict, and reaches a split decision, like 5-4 or 6-3, even further damage will be done. If the Trump appointed justices don’t recuse, the media will claim the appeal is against the rule of law. If they recuse and the liberals split the court, then we’re at another impasse. This shit show was created by Democrats, and I am at a loss to figure out how it can be fixed at this point. Well, there is one way…a unanimous verdict by the SCOTUS.
