Russia is expected to significantly increase the size of its military presence in Ukraine, with an additional 200-300 thousand troops set to join their ranks, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov in an interview with Reuters.
The minister added that the current number of Russian forces stationed in Ukraine and along its borders stands at 500 thousand troops.
Umerov emphasized the urgency of mobilizing fresh recruits to facilitate the rotation of military personnel in response to the anticipated surge in Russian troop numbers.
"At this stage, we are focused on training our personnel ... pilots, we are focused on infrastructure, we are focused on bringing operational and maintenance teams and we are working on modernisation or bringing on more platforms."

That will ultimately doom Russia into becoming a vassal of the new Ottoman Empire.
Again, Zelensky had already agreed to a neutral Ukraine and no NATO membership. Nor was the present Ukrainian government “installed” by the US. But acknowledging that would destroy your narrative.
“Russia controls its own immigration policy, not the US administration”
If the Neocons got their way with Russia, that would not be the case, hence the resistance of Russia to let the Neocons get that control.
I am afraid, unless something radically changes, that will be the fate of both Europe and Russia. The greater threat to both is Islam, not each other.
The provocations are from the US-NATO side since Bill Clinton decided to push NATO eastwards in 1997 towards Russia.
Yeah Russia decided to fight back in 2022 to shoot and kill people but to pretend Russia is the evil and the US is the good is delusional.
And how would the Neocons ever get control of Russian immigration policy?
Yep, and this is the reason Turkey joined NATO, to wait for the day that Russia is no longer a threat.
Then they rise, and bring the whole Muslim world with them, and most likely have an ally in China.
It might not be for another 10-20 years, but that’s how I see it happening.
“Again, Zelensky had already agreed to a neutral Ukraine and no NATO membership.”
If the best you can do is a unsourced Reuters story, there’s about a 10% chance it ever happened. Show us AN ANNOUNCEMENT from Ukraine, prior to the war, or any time, that they would never join NATO. Otherwise, it is very safe to assume that it NEVER HAPPENED.
“And how would the Neocons ever get control of Russian immigration policy?”
Ask the French, the British, the Dutch, the Italians, the Germans... if they have any control of their borders and you’ll get the idea.
NATO expansion eastwards was by the pull of the eastern European nations, not by the push of NATO. I wonder why they would ever think that they needed protection of NATO membership. Of course, for some, they could never see any wrong in Russian actions. After all, eastern Europe and the former Soviet republics are rightfully in Russia's zone of influence and Russia should have a free hand to do whatever they want, no?
George Kennan who authored containment of the USSR warned about how bad this Clinton decision was that it would end up angering the Russians and so here were are heading for World War III and or Armageddon.
Pathetic.
“NATO expansion eastwards was by the pull of the eastern European nations, not by the push of NATO.”
Russia had Red Lines, and Ukraine, as the Neocons have learned, was the BRIGHTEST of the Red Lines. The US has its Red Lines too, after all how many Russian or Chinese bases are in Mexico? Just because Russia/China doesn’t cross our Red Lines doesn’t mean they don’t exist, it just means that Russia/China RESPECTS our Red Lines.
It’s hard to understand what the big deal is here, the Neocons decided to TEST the Red Lines in Russia, and so now they’re getting spanked. Seems simple to me.
Which is why Slavs need to stop fighting each other.
People in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, need to rise up and overthrow the scum running their countries.
Read the story again. The source is Dmitry Kozak, Putin's former chief envoy to Ukraine. But of course there are some who believe that anything that goes against the Russian narrative "never happened." The Russians are angels in everything they do. Even when they attack other country it has to be someone else's fault; never Russia's.
“Nor was it threatened by the fact the were operating 30 or so biolabs in Ukraine with deadly pathogens in them”
True…..including bioengineering H5N1 (bird flu) to infect humans for Jobama.
And when was Ukraine formally invited to join NATO? I missed that. Even now I am sure that Ukraine would accept a deal, if ever offered, that would include no NATO in exchange for Russian withdrawal. But that would not allow Putin to keep his stolen land and dominate Ukraine.
North Vietnam lost over 800,000 troops while North Korea lost 1,500,000. Both were still willing to fight.
We WERE on good terms with Moscow, once upon a time. Even as late as 2013 we were using their airspace to supply our guys in Afghanistan.
But Putin needed justification for his increasing suppression of dissent in Russia, and the most convenient excuses all tied into the traditional paranoia about foreign influences. Closely following the Ivan Ilyin playbooks that Putin revived a decade before.
Read chapters 1 through 3 of "The Road to Unfreedom" by Timothy Snyder. Yes, you're going to have the read an actual book by a real historian, not internet "links". There IS a world outside the Innertubes, y'know.
“We WERE on good terms with Moscow, once upon a time. Even as late as 2013 we were using their airspace to supply our guys in Afghanistan.”
...and then we installed a HOSTILE government in Ukraine.
“But Putin needed justification”
See above sentence that I wrote.
Keep beating that horse if you want, but the Ukrainian government was elected by the Ukrainian people, not "installed" by us. And if you want to discover the source of that hostility, perhaps you should look at Russia's occupation of Donbas and Crimea. But again, for some Russia can do no wrong.
