The provocations are from the US-NATO side since Bill Clinton decided to push NATO eastwards in 1997 towards Russia.

NATO expansion eastwards was by the pull of the eastern European nations, not by the push of NATO. I wonder why they would ever think that they needed protection of NATO membership. Of course, for some, they could never see any wrong in Russian actions. After all, eastern Europe and the former Soviet republics are rightfully in Russia's zone of influence and Russia should have a free hand to do whatever they want, no?

George Kennan who authored containment of the USSR warned about how bad this Clinton decision was that it would end up angering the Russians and so here were are heading for World War III and or Armageddon.

Pathetic.

“NATO expansion eastwards was by the pull of the eastern European nations, not by the push of NATO.”

Russia had Red Lines, and Ukraine, as the Neocons have learned, was the BRIGHTEST of the Red Lines. The US has its Red Lines too, after all how many Russian or Chinese bases are in Mexico? Just because Russia/China doesn’t cross our Red Lines doesn’t mean they don’t exist, it just means that Russia/China RESPECTS our Red Lines.

It’s hard to understand what the big deal is here, the Neocons decided to TEST the Red Lines in Russia, and so now they’re getting spanked. Seems simple to me.
