Russia May See Ukrainian Long-Range Attacks as ‘Precursor to Nuclear Strike’, Ex-DoD Analyst Fears
Sputnik News ^ | 5/31/24 | Ilya Tsukanov

The Biden administration has greenlit the use of American long-range strike systems by Ukraine to launch attacks deep into Russia. This puts the entire planet in a “shockingly” dangerous situation, says former DoD analyst and US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski.

President Biden has knowingly or unwittingly brought the risk of a world-ending nuclear conflict much, much closer after listening to “neoconservative advisors who really don’t have a lot of perspective on the nuclear dangers that they’re walking into” instead of military specialists and okaying Ukraine’s use of NATO weapons to strike the Russian hinterland, Kwiatkowski told Sputnik.

“The big problem is that Kiev’s drones have [already] attacked Russian early warning systems that are designed as part of their nuclear defense.....I don’t think they damaged them, but this has been done. If American weapons, heavier weapons are used against those targets, this cannot help but be seen by Russia as a precursor to a first strike – a nuclear first strike. When you hit someone’s nuclear defense radars, their ‘eyes’, their defensive systems, in normal war strategy, you’re preparing a battlefield. So I don’t know if the Biden advisors in Washington really have a sense of this, because there are no military people up there that are talking to Biden about this, but it’s a very dangerous situation,” Kwiatkowski emphasized.

The Wall Street Journal has reported citing officials that Washington has greenlit Ukraine’s use of Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) and High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) rockets, as well as long-range artillery, for strikes on Russia territory.

Earlier, other NATO members, including Britain and France – which have sent long-range Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles to Ukraine, similarly gave a nod to Kiev to use these weapons to fire on positions deep inside Russia amid Ukrainian forces’ slow........

“No, we just invaded Ukraine and annexed it. Then we set up shop there.”

Annexation is a bit extreme. Territories always self-govern best. I like where you’re going tho.

I say we just make UKR a deployment center for the push thru to Vladivostok. Now that Russian armor is attritted under replacement levels we bring in the NATO stores, put nukes in over-watch, cut a deal with China and roll.

The thing about tyranny. You eventually run out of friends and everyone is your enemy.

Bye!

She is pretty thoughtful and informed.
Virtually every Western analyst with even a glimmer of the Russian perspective and doctrine, and the risky arrogance and ignorance of our current administration’s intel and security apparatchiks making policy decisions…can find a platform only on media like RT and Sputnik.

Russia is invoking their “defensive pact” for up to one million soldiers to come to their aid as NATO attacks Russia.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)[note 3] is an intergovernmental military alliance in Eurasia consisting of six post-Soviet states: Armenia,[note 1] Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, formed in 2002. The Collective Security Treaty has its origins in the Soviet Armed Forces, which was replaced in 1992 by the United Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and was then itself replaced by the successor armed forces of the respective independent states.

Similar to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty and the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance, Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty (CST) establishes that an aggression against one signatory would be perceived as an aggression against all. The 2002 CSTO charter reaffirmed the desire of all participating states to abstain from the use or threat of force. Signatories are prohibited from joining other military alliances.

NATO is walking back deep strike comnments on authorizes and say it is only for troop concentrations with 200 km of the boarder or artillery duels. Now we are learning that even Ukrainian artillery and Toss systems are controlled by NATO officers to ensure Ukraine doesn’t mis-use weapons in this conflict. The do do is deep with Biden.

Now we get to see if NATO will say convention if over a 1M screaming soldiers from the Stan’s start gobbeling up Ukraine.

Looks like we will see 2M soldiers serving against Ukraine in 2024 instead of 2026.

Way to go Joe. Now the conflict is spreading across all of Asia. China is invoking their version of the Biden trade war today as well, effective 1 July.

Tony Blinken should along with Jake Sullivan and Lloyd Austin be replaced immediately.

Meanwhile Gen Milley and his successor have announced plans to notify both China and Russia if the Biden Administration threatens anyone with military escalation.... winky-wink wink.

Putin is likely going to use one tactical nuke as a display of force - and final warning.

Highly unlikely. For one thing, Russia no longer has troops that are trained and equipped to operate in a nuclear environment. Additionally, if they were to do so Danish and Turkish straits would be closed and Russia would be completely isolated. Russia could not economically survive.

In all of the wars we’ve thrown over the years, how long would we tolerate Russia supplying, targeting, and directing missile attacks inside the continental United States, striking strategic air bases, radars to detect ICBMs, hitting our oil refineries etc?

Russia could prevent all of this by just withdrawing from Ukraine. It is interesting how there are some who always blame Western actions but never look at Russia's actions.

Where is Code Pink and all the folks that HATED war when Bush was Pres?
How come all the doves became hawks?

And this means, that they are perforce inaccurate about the state of mind of the Russian government?

The Biden (mal)administration’s antics when facing a peer-or-better, nuclear-armed adversary, remind me of that black teen rapper a week or so ago, who accidentally fatally shot himself in the head while grandstanding with a pistol for a video.

The consequences of being glib about a nuclear armed enemy are too grave to allow the usual autofellatory smug DC “because Ivy League” grad circle jerk.

“”””Looks like we will see 2M soldiers serving against Ukraine in 2024 instead of 2026.””””

So in months Russia will be leading 2 million troops inside Ukraine.
