12 States Are Banning the Sale of Gas-Powered Cars

Imagine a world where gas stations are replaced by charging stations. Does that sound weird or cool? Well, that’s the future 12 U.S. states are hurtling towards by phasing out the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles.

California pioneered this ambitious plan to fight air pollution by encouraging residents to buy electric cars. A domino effect has begun following California’s lead, with 11 states lining up to follow suit.

In August 2022, California decided to ban the sales of gas-powered cars by 2035. It’s a big step in fighting climate change since ICEs constitute a significant cause of air pollution. However, the rule doesn’t apply to used cars, which can still be sold and bought.

The Advanced Clean Cars II regulation will kick in 2026 with a small percentage of new cars required to be electric and then increase each year until only zero-emission vehicles are sold in 2035. Whether this initiative will work hinges on the state’s ability to continue ramping up sales of Zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).

Good questions.

Probably the blue states are blue because the elections are stolen. I’m guessing they need to keep doing so to maintain their hold on power.

I suppose the red states are governed by undercover dems posing as republicans.

Pennsylvania is one of them, no surprise there. Wait till the college-age snowflakes who vote for this policy, go shopping for cars.

Just a guess. California citizens wouldn’t be allowed to register new cars bought out of state. A new arrival to the state would be allowed to register their ICE vehicle.

CNET article lists them:

These 12 States Are Banning the Sale of Gas-Powered Cars

I can't see how that goes over in PA or MN, two of the 11 other states.

California would pass a law requiring Exxon to install charging units.

[[Imagine a world where gas stations are replaced by charging stations]]

Imagine a state where gas cars are prohibited, and citizen are really really pissed off because the state has constant blackouts and vrownouts, and must declare certain times for charging, and progibitt8ng charging during “off hours”

Imagine also a state that has banned gas cars where citizens jam up al. The available charging stations, where there are lines for charging miles long, and people pissed off because they have to wait hours on end just to get back home again.

Imagin3 states where gasoline cars are illegal, and which heavily fines and taxes out of state drivers who break the rules.

Imagine a state where gas cars are illegal and cops are flat out tied up chasing down the myriad new “felons” who simply drive gas cars having no time for other actual criminal activity by actual crimi Al’s.

It doesn’t take any imagination to realize how asinine the whole electric car mandate thing is

I see the whole West Coast, and a lot of NE Coast, so do Penn. and New Mexico expect the rising seas to put them on the coast?

When the libs in Alabama fearmonger about rising sea levels, I ask them if they've taken their kids/grandkids to a science museum in Birmingham that has an exhibit with dinosaurs. They always say Yes. So I point out to them that most of the dinosaurs are from sea fossils. LOL

80 million years ago, most of Alabama was underwater.
