Russia has accused Nato and the US of "provoking a new level of tension" after the US and Germany became the latest allies to let Ukraine's military to use Western-supplied weapons to strike targets inside Russia.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Nato countries, especially the US and several European countries, had "entered a new round of escalating tension and they are doing this deliberately", in remarks quoted by the Tass news agency.
The UK and France had already signalled they were open to easing restrictions on Ukraine striking military sites on Russian territory, before US President Joe Biden said on Thursday night that American-supplied weapons could be used.

Perhaps it will, Russia isn’t the Taliban or Al Qaeda, they have a diverse military with all the necessary countermeasures to dole out punishment.
Americans are used to the casualty number from the war in Afghanistan or Iraq, if hundreds of Americans are getting killed every day, the public will turn on Biden immediately.
I think it’s a false notion to think we could roll over Russia like we did Iraq in the first and second gulf wars, Russia is much more capable and willing to fight back.
If Russia lobs a nuke at us, Biden will most certainly blame Trump.

Once the nukes start flying the reality is that NOBODY knows how to contain it or where it ends. We’re getting dangerously close to the point where a mistake or miscalculation could trigger something that most sane people don’t want to ever happen. We should be looking for a constructive way out of this mess instead of increasing the chances of calamity.

It’s now nearly certain Russia will use tactical nukes against Ukrainian positions.
Anyone who thinks Russia is going to lose a war in Ukraine without using every means at their disposal is just plain stupid.
