British rock guitar legend Eric Clapton moved one step closer to Roger Waters territory last week, telling an interviewer that “Israel is running the world, Israel is running the show.”
The 79-year-old musician, who has recently performed playing a guitar painted in the colors of the Palestinian flag, was interviewed on May 22 by David Spuria, an American Youtuber who hosts the popular Real Music Observer show.
alking about the recent campus protests in the US against Israel, Clapton criticized the Senate hearings in which university presidents were asked about antisemitism on campus.
“I was so enthused about what was going on at Columbia [University] and elsewhere. And then what I couldn’t believe, because it freaked me out, were the Senate hearings, which were like the Nuremberg trials, you know?” he said.

“I guess he’s run out of things to say about how great and wonderful the blues is... all five notes and the pentatonic scale overly repeated and permutated.”

Gary Moore was a far better blues guy and much more versatile player Clapton. Moore was able to play outside the box.
LOL.
“Somebody had to be ‘that guy’, show up and start insulting his musical talent because they don’t like his politics”
Nope. I thought him overrated as a guitarist before I knew he also was an ignorant British communist.
Neil never could sing. He whined.
That was my take also. Guess he does support Nazis and Hamas.
Thanks!
A tremendous winnowing is happening right now.
Clapton’s choices are on his own head.
Actually he has a point when you look at how much Israel seems to control our policy towards them. Don’t kid yourself the Israel Lobby in the U.S. and England is pretty strong.
That's Roger Waters. Clapton's been relatively apolitical. He's been against mass immigration (though he later backtracked some), against the fox hunting ban, and against COVID lockdowns.
“Gary Moore was a far better blues guy and much more versatile player Clapton. Moore was able to play outside the box.”
Totally agree, employed altered chords, chord extentions, hot jazz chord patterns, like T-bone used to do. Allman bros took a page out of the T-bone Walker library also.
“ I can nane a hundred guitar players that can run circles around Clapton. He’s an average guitar player. ”
No you can’t. And no he isn’t average.
Moore used a Bmin7b5 in a 5 of 5 pattern in Still Got the Blues, a blues masterpiece. Not your usual rock fare. Just one example of his virtuosity.
Oh yes I can. But you’ve probably never heard of them. I’ll name a few.
Tommy Emmanuel
Robben Ford
Richard Smith
Robbie Calvo
Mike Dawes
Andy McGee
Joe Bonnamassa
Joe Satriani
Eric Johnson
And so is the Islamic lobby. Don’t kid yourself.
Al DiMeola
John McLaughlin

Now THAT is absolutely true. To me, it’s another sign that we’re in the Last Days. Which is why I have such fervor (or maybe a fever, LOL)
I have basically had to write off 2 friends in recent months.
One, just last week.
To be honest, I don’t know that I can ever trust them again.
And that is basically prophesied in the Bible; that you will be betrayed, often by those seemingly closest to you.
IT VAS DA JOOOOOS!!! /is it 1938 again?

Not that long ago I stated that

“That’s Disraeli?”
Kevin Spacey in “The Doomsday Gun”
Actually pretty good. And the Iraqi General (character) was actually named for one of Saddam’s son-in-laws (who he asked to return to Iraq, then murdered)
