Former President Donald Trump is likely to announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in July in Milwaukee, Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Newsmax.
"President Trump has said that he thinks he may be ready to make that announcement at the Republican convention in Milwaukee later this summer. That's not set in stone. That's what he said. That's definitely subject to change. And who his vice president will be is up to President Trump," Leavitt told "American Agenda."
On Friday, The New York Times reported seven Republican candidates are on Trump's current shortlist: Dr. Ben Carson, Trump's former secretary of Housing and Urban Development; Sens. J.D. Vance of Ohio, Tim Scott of South Carolina, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, and Marco Rubio of Florida; Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York; and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.

General Flynn tops my list.
“General Flynn tops my list.”
Oh boy...wouldn’t that be fun!
Flynn would be a good choice for National Security Advisor like before, so he can pick up where he left off. I happen to think Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Allen West would be a good VP choice for former President Trump this time around. With West as Trump’s VP, the oligarchy will think twice about removing Trump prematurely, if you catch my drift!
All of those are great options.... in my opinion!
Elise Stephenik, and Ben Carson are both tops!! Wouldn’t Elise add to that ticket ... OH WOW!!!
i dont know enough about a couple of these people to really comment much
but except for Carson (who I’ve cooled on somewhat) the list does look like it has some talent on it
selecting a US Senator could help Bernie the Red Saunders ?
unless PDJT knows in advance who would replace his veep in the Senate?
Gonna be a GREAT convention. Momentum is clearly on our side.
Uhhh. News flash. Trump himself has already said he would announce his pick at the convention.

It will be Ron or Nikki.
Normally I would place highest a VP candidate who is loyal, and who can carry MAGA to 2028 and beyond.
But these aren’t normal times! Democrat cheating will be off the charts. Media lying will be off the charts. So I’d want a VP pick who can most help Trump win in November. Everything else is secondary.
Trump cannot govern if he does not win in the first place. And the future of America literally depends on him winning this November.
He would have to, wouldn’t he. The convention has to nominate the Veep. The POTUS candidate cannot just name him.
Technically you’re absolutely right.
The convention has to nominate the vice president.
Realistically the convention is going to nominate whoever is chosen by Trump.
Nooooo! At the convention. I’m shocked. For goodness sakes, the breathlessness of this apparently out there prediction is stunning. Like duh!
Well I think he should keep it to himself and let it out after the election.
That might not be a bad idea. Considering all the FReepers who won’t vote for him if he picks DeSantis, Nikki, Rubio, Noem, Tulsi, etc.
LOL I think he’s too smart to pick nikki ... but if he does make that mistake he will lose in an embarrassing landslide. She’s the only person on earth that can turn the south blue.
Fantasy talk. The south will be deep red whomever he chooses for vp, don’t be silly.
and how many generations has your family lived in the south?
Yes but they have to have a name to vote for during the convention.
My point still stands...the South is solidly voting Trump in November no matter who the vp pick is. Go look at how many votes Haley got in the 2024 primaries in the south... well over a million votes in the south alone. I find it’s best to live in reality.
