I have read that the only reason Hinduism is still around is because of the British Invasion in the 1700s driving a wedge between the murderous moslems and the Hindus, otherwise the Hindus would have been forced to convert or die.

When it gained independence from the English, India sliced off two chunks of itself (called Pakistan and East Pakistan, now Bangladesh) and gave them to the Muhammadans to be their own self-ruled homeland(s) in the hope that they would all leave India, ridding India of the chaos Muhammadans always seem to be dragging behind them.
