Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia could increase its attacks in Ukraine's north east following its recent gains near the city of Kharkiv.
Mr Zelensky admitted that there were issues with military staffing and morale, saying a number of existing brigades were empty.
He also told the AFP news agency the country's air fleet was lacking and renewed calls for allies to send more air defence and fighter jets.
"Today we have about 25% of what we need to defend Ukraine," Mr Zelensky said of Ukraine's air capabilities.

I think what he really needs is more coke to numb his bloody conscience.
Maybe he gets away with the money he’s stolen from Ukraine, if I’m wrong I wonder how it feels to get totally screwed by your supposed allies, Ukraine had no chance from the beginning now they are facing annelation, the only thing that can save them is to surrender and negotiate.
He’s not a military man...at least Washington learned as he went along and I doubt if he has any “top choice” leaders among the ranks.
I think you can bet on that happening Zelenskyy.
Translation of this article:
“JOE GIMMIE MORE MONEY!”
He’s being weaned from the money teat. But he has a lot of dead people and wrecked buildings to show for it, not to mention less land.

The Zelensky Express
Nobody listens to St Z anymore…..except for our clowns in Congress…..he becomes an illegitimate President on May 20th….or so many Nations claim.
The bigger question? How does an illegitimate President sign off on negotiations or surrender?
Ask this guy:
'Many nations' as in Russia, Belarus, Syria, North Korea, Nicaragua, etc? Like anyone cares what they say.
Hope so, so we can stop sending unacccounted-for billions to support yet another proxy war with Russia. 71 years of proxy wars with Russia is a bit long, and needs to end.
Most of Asia, South America and Africa think Zelensky is illegitimate. Huh, that’s most of the world.

Washington learned as he went along?
Right, its funny they didn't vote that way.
These 6 countries sided with Russia in UN vote on Ukraine war
The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution on Thursday to call for peace in Ukraine in a vote that marked the anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion.
But the vote was not unanimous. The resolution, which called for Russia to withdraw its forces from Ukraine and for peace to be restored to the region, passed with 141 countries voting in favor, six countries joining Russia in voting against it and 32 countries abstaining.
The six countries to vote against the resolution were Belarus, North Korea, Syria, Eritrea, Mali and Nicaragua.

Isn’t determining if a President is illegitimate a function of the country he is leading and their law and constitution?
This is one of more bizarre of the weird claims you make.
Yes, THAT'S the reason Ukraine's soldiers are fighting so ferociously and not that they want freedom and a better life for themselves and their families.
You're being ridiculous.
