Yes, I know that I've been on "Team DeSantis" for the last couple of years. But I honestly and truly hope to be celebrating in November when Trump wins his re-election.

I will vote, without any hesitation, for Trump.

And then I will hold his feet to the fire and implore him to do his best to make America great again.

And I hope he picks a running mate who can grab that torch and run with it.

I won’t be happy until the media declares that Trump is too old to be President.

Where are these weirdos seeing a good economy? What planet do they live on, because it isn’t Earth.

I'll vote for Trump and it's a way of saying "F U" to the liberal elite who's running our country. That'll buy us four years, at least.>p>Otherwise, I'm not expecting too much.

The economy has been in a robust recovery for more than two years now

These people are so removed from reality. Coupled with that they are pathological liars.

I have noticed over the years that the leftist intelligencia truly believes that if they repeat what they think happened, or what they believe "should" happen, enough times it will become reality.

These types of essays - and it seems like there are more than a few - make me very suspicious. It’s as if they (they being the Left) are setting things up so they can be “happily surprised” that despite all odds, FJB wins by a landslide.

“rising tide of good economic news”
........
Yeah, everyone is ecstatic with the ridiculously high prices of food, homes unaffordable, restaurants skyrocketing. Just wonderful. Joe and Janet “I’ll never retire” Yellen have got this!

Every single employment number has been revised DOWN, inflation has skyrocketed. Taxes under a continued “Joe” as the Prop will take the savings of the middle class and raise the cost of everything…ON PURPOSE! The 100K Patriots that came to Wildwood yesterday are sick of it and want this corrupt Junta to be OUSTED.

Trump will be better for the energy sector, the border, and the amount of new regulations, from day one.

After that he’ll need some help from a Congress that actually wants to pass a conservative agenda.

Which if the past is any indication of the future, is highly unlikely.

Fareed Zakaria…. I share Rush’s disdain for this man. How could anyone so intelligent be so simultaneously stupid?! Are he and former CNN employee Amanpour (Amanpour married a Jewish man BTW…. That did not lessen her anti-Semiism) just token hires to meet diversity requirements?!

“The economy has been in a robust recovery for more than two years now — with unemployment hitting a 54-year low in 2023 and increasing only slightly since then — but Biden is getting little credit for it.”

Bullcrap. Go fill you gas tank, go grocery shopping, go look for a house. That lie is dead.

Then one other thing. Flatten the entire economy to a dead stop. Let it return to close to where it was. Pour massive sums into the economy. Then claim an economic miracle.

When President Joe Biden made clear that he was going to run for reelection, I had a sense of what his election strategy was and thought it was an intelligent path to victory.

What is an intelligent path to victory for a senile presidential candidate?

After the chaos of Covid-19 and the administration of former President Donald Trump, Biden would stand for normalcy and a rising tide of good economic news.

The tide is certainly rising, but it is not economic good news. It is a rising tide of icky brown matter. It keeps getting deeper and deeper.

Trump would divide Republicans, with significant chunks of the party wishing that someone like former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would be their nominee.

In opposing Trump, each saw their popularity approach vanishing point.

Meanwhile, Trump would unite and motivate Democrats, allowing Biden to focus on independent voters in the swing states that threw the Electoral College to Trump in 2016 and to Biden in 2020.

Even Democrats are motivated to buck Fiden. Biden is too senile to focus on anything. Not even Dems can believe he is actually running the government. Every visit to the grocery store reinforces the belief that whoever is in charge is a screw up.

I think it is best to be honest about reality. ... The economy has been in a robust recovery for more than two years now....

Well, make up your mind, reality or more fairy tales.

But whatever the reasons, this is a stunning reversal in the midst of a relentless stream of good economic news.

Right, a relentless stream of more fairy tales. The good economic news is that a Mickey D combo meal can still be found for less than $20. The poor family of four can pig out on a burger and fries for less than $80. Yes, the good economic news is relentless.

And I do wonder whether abortion will be as large an issue in a presidential race, given that reversing Roe v. Wade threw the issue to state governments and not the federal government.

Roe was not reversed, it was overturned. Jurisdiction was returned to the states. Keep wondering if federal government created poverty will be a bigger issue than a party stance on the state issue of abortion, an issue over which the federal government has no jurisdiction. Let's see. Will the people care more about whether Jane Roe can get an abortion in her home state, or whether they can afford to buy groceries? Or afford a mortgage for a house.

The one that troubles me most concerns the question of who is more competent. Biden led Trump by nine points in 2020, but Trump now leads by 16 points in 2024. That 25-point shift could be a reflection of people’s sense that the president’s age is affecting his capacity to govern. If so, there is very little that Biden can do to change that perception.

Biden is senile, Trump is not. Every time Biden speaks, it is a comedy show. Indeed, there is very little Biden can do to change that perception. It's on video and goes to Youtube and X. The people "sense" Biden is senile because he is senile.

What can be done is after Biden is nominated, he can step aside. There will be no time for primaries and the party PTB may choose the ticket. They would choose to not include Kamala Harris. Sounds like a plan.

Perhaps the $3.75 per gallon regulation unleaded gas here in lower Michigan and up to $6 in high tax states is crushing everyone and Biden or whoever they try to swap is toast in November. People buy gasoline every few days and this is crushing them. Almost all of them. Biden owns it. Trump wins when he messages that $2 per gallon is easily possible under him and will be an immediate priority.
