Barron Trump, former President Donald Trump's youngest son and his only scion with former first lady Melania Trump, will not be a Florida delegate at the 2024 Republican National Convention, according to his mother's office.
"While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines to participate due to prior commitments," a spokeswoman for Melania Trump told the Washington Examiner.

As far as I know, he only has half-siblings, no steps.
He doesn’t need the notoriety like David Hogg.
In MA, the process was people placing their *own* names in the ring for consideration to become a delegate, by stating the campaign that they wanted to be affiliated. Then, a delegates committee in the MA GOP determined the delegates from that list. A priori, each delegate candidate knows full well that there are lots of strings attached, and they'd have to fork out about $5000 to pay their way for travel, hotel, food.
The other common mechanism is, instead of a state GOP committee making the choices, holding a caucus where those wanting to go would meet up, each given a few minutes to speak, and then voted on by the R attendees.
So, this is why this whole thing is likely choreographed. For reasons apparently for now unknown. Put Barron in the news for about 2-3 news cycles, if nothing else.
It doesn’t sound like he was “dropped.” More like he’s smart and just turned it down.
Most likely he and mom are studying the huge numbers of institutions to which he could attend. You know...sifting out stupid leftist colleges/universities like Columbia, Harvard, etc.
He has world class institutions all over this world, not just the NE US where everybody are apparently Pallie lovers and leftists.
When he’s a delegate he would have to be sitting on the convention floor with the Florida delegation pretty much the whole time. That doesn’t make sense for the former and would be future first son of the United States vs. being with his family.
There is nothing saying he does not support his dad.
But it seems clear he does not want the “limelight” that comes from a campaign. No problem there.
I think he is currently only 17. He should not do it. He should wait until he is older. The crazy people out there are too numerous.
I can’t even imagine where he could safely go to college. Soros money covers the globe.
In one week, he’s done. He’s an adult. But he’s on the spectrum so it’s not good for him to be in crowds and full of noise. Makes them scream and yell.
I dont blame Melania for not wanting Barron to do this, honestly this kid has had to hear horrible crap from leftists for years, he shouldn’t be brought back into the spotlight for this, let him be a kid and enjoy life
I can’t even imagine where he could safely go to college
The evil folks would never allow him to enjoy his college years the way they allowed Obama's daughters to be in college and the way they fail to publicize their slutty behavior then and now.
Centuries ago our ancestors tutored their children and young adults. They learned foreign languages, Latin and Greek, logic and philosophy.
Better yet, let Barron learn Portuguese and move to Brazil. He could become a farmer there. I think the largest John Deere location is in Brazil and the bad guys aren't thinking about trying to take over there.
Yeah whatever, but does the kid play basketball?
His title is President - not former President. Don’t post this trash.
He seems shy. Very rarely looks at the cameras 🎥 🤷♂️
Delegates are picked based on politics.
Imagine our reaction if the democrats had installed Amy Carter, Chelsea Clinton, or the Obama girls as delegates at age 18.
Seriously, who gives a sh*t.
Your concern is weird.
That’s what I think. He’ll be a target. A literal target.
Source?
Adults picking an 18 year old kid — because they want to show fealty to their lord and master — is not good politics. It is cringe level stuff. It’s bad enough that Trump’s out-of-control ego drives him to treat the party like a cult of personality. We shouldn’t compound it by treating the Trump clan like a royal family.
