Florida man points AR-15 in Uber driver's face, forces him to ground for dropping daughter off: deputies

MILTON, Fla. - A Florida father was arrested over the weekend after pulling an AR-15 rifle on an Uber driver who dropped his daughter off at his home, according to deputies.

Sean Hollonbeck, 54, of Milton, was taken to jail on charges of false imprisonment of a person and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On May 4, shortly before 11 p.m., an Uber driver arrived at Hollonbeck's home to drop off the suspect's daughter.

The young female was still in the vehicle when she saw her father run up to the driver with an AR-15 in hand and force him to the ground, according to an arrest report.

Deputies said Hollonbeck pointed the gun in the driver's face and screamed at him to get out of the car, as his daughter went inside the home.

The report stated the daughter had friends over at the home who also witnessed the incident.

Hollonbeck forced the driver to show his driver's license before taking pictures of it and letting him go, deputies said.

According to the report, Hollonbeck admitted to his actions and said he was "afraid of his daughter's safety."

He was booked into the Santa Rosa County jail and later released after posting bond, jail records show. Fullscreen button

You find out the facts before you go drawing a firearm on somebody who isn’t an immediate threat to you or others. It’s called commonsense.

“I was referring to the driver who was like 19.”

1. You are making up things silly things.

2. You have to be 21 to drive for Uber.

I don’t know but I am guessing that where underage riders are allowed, the driver is notified by the app and also can decide whether to accept in advance. Doesn’t look like policy was followed in either case.

How would an Uber or Lyft driver know a passenger is a minor when the ride is scheduled?

That’s interesting, I get it.

I just looked up Uber policy and they only transport minors if accompanied by an adult. That makes sense and I had it wrong.

So that driver was violating policy. He should have asked for ID (heck, maybe he did).

Do you think the driver should have called the police?

>>You seem to be suggesting…

Negative.

It was for the driver’s own personal safety.

He might have a clue when they picked her up.

Negative.

As you quoted of me…(not to be alone).

Yes, medical crews get accused.

If you have taken coarse for use of a defibrillator, the person’s chest is fully exposed.

Actually, I just looked into it.

Both Uber and Lyft have policies against picking up minors who are not in the presence of an adult, so I stand corrected.

This being said, on both of my accounts, and I used these services frequently, there's nowhere when signing up for me to enter my date of birth.

So, yes, the driver was in violation of company policy.

It’s been many years since I did Uber, but like I said, “I am guessing... the driver is notified by the app.”

I said that because they implemented a policy about minors.

When I drove there was no such policy, oddly enough. So I never knew in advance.

Yes, as I posted above, it is company policy to not drive unaccompanied minors.

Yet, neither service ever asked for my age when I signed up.

Drivers. One took her from Milton to Pensacola and the second brought her back to Milton.
