Police officers repeatedly fired their guns at a New York City man who had called 911 during a mental health crisis as his mother and younger brother begged officers not to shoot, bodycam video released Friday shows.
Win Rozario's family called on the officers to be fired and charged with murder after the footage of the killing was made public by the state's attorney general.
“The video that was released makes it clear that Win should be alive but the police came and murdered him in our kitchen without any care for him or us,” said a statement from Rozario’s mother, brother and father. “The police created a crisis and killed him in cold blood.”

Look around the kitchen.
There is a LOT of stuff to hide if you want total safety.
Not defending anyone, just noting these situations are hard.
“”””We had cops who did that, then they feminized the job. Not all scissors wielders are equal. Some you might take down other ways some it might seem advisable to shoot. With a feminized force the resort to deadly force is extremely likely.””””
That’s what I think, there was a reason all of our violent dads and uncles weren’t being gunned down at every drunken cookout, bar fight, and domestic quarrel in the 40 and 50s and 60s, today they don’t evaluate the situation and the odds, they just gun them.

........reading 1-41 posts I was just thinking the cop that fired “probably” was a woman. If we are all honest, and IF it was a WOMAN cop, we must answer the question “what else could “SHE” do?”
The honest answer to that is that “feminism”, and dumbass voters, over recent decades, put women with a gun on the front lines of police enforcement guaranteeing incidents like these.
Your post was well said.
Is always a “mental health crisis” with this crap. If someone is delusional and violent, well, let the chips fall where they may.
For the same reason that although a Philly cop took a plea to 3rd degree murder a few weeks ago-that story was never posted on this site.
Not exactly the same reason but similar reasons.
“Um... was he armed? Threatening? Details sorely lacking...”
Too lazy to read the article before errant posting ...
“Why does the left want to highlight any mistake and the press only giving one side?”
Huh? The provided PD statements and body cam.
That will get you dead with any sane officer. Vests are not designed to withstand punctures, only a chicken plate.
*What do you mean?*
He be gone.
Well that’ll do it. Mom always said “never run with scissors you’ll get hurt”.
...and always wear clean underwear in case you get in an accident!
Bodycam footage should only ever be used internally and never released to the public. Everybody behaves differently when they know they’re being recorded. It causes a cop to disregard his experience and cop-sense in favor of “How’s this gonna look on screen?”
If IA determines it needs to go to the DA for investigation, everyone on the case should be sworn to secrecy and have to sign a non-disclosure agreement (with potential criminal penalties) — including a trial jury, if it comes to that. Because otherwise you’re screwing with the cop’s head and forcing him to disregard what he’s learned about police work and real-world experience.
Was he armed? Was he wearing the required yellow caution “Mentally Ill and Dangerous” vest? why did the mother call the police instead or Social Workers?
He didn’t look for another weapon in the kitchen. He used the scissors that his mother put down.
Reagan screwed up big time closing them all down.
