Just as Russia had started to bring back some refinery capacity damaged by Ukrainian drone attacks earlier this year, a new wave of drone attacks hit a major refinery owned by Rosneft, for a second time.
Rosneft’s Ryazan refinery southeast of Moscow caught fire after the overnight drone attack, an anonymous Ukrainian military source with knowledge of the situation told Bloomberg News on Wednesday.
The refinery in the region of Ryazan, whose main city of the same name is some 120 miles southeast of Moscow, was first attacked by drones in the middle of March. The first attack also led to a fire.

This year, Ukraine has stepped up attacks on oil refineries in Russia, which have reduced Russian refining capacity, and, reportedly, have the White House concerned about rising international prices.
The United States has repeatedly urged Ukraine to halt its drone attacks on Russian oil refineries due to Washington’s assessment that the strikes could lead to Russian retaliation and push up global oil prices, the Financial Times reported in March, citing sources familiar with the exchange.
As of mid-April, Russia had brought back online some oil refining units, reducing the capacity taken offline by Ukrainian drone hits to around 10%, from 14% at the end of March.

Well it won’t be long that happens. I give Ukraine 5 months after the Russian Offensive starts, so they have maybe 6-7 months to endure the slaughter.
Ukraine lost 40,000 KIA in the past 6 weeks. Russia lost about 7,000 men. The high intensity pressure on the front line hounds the Ukrainians, never giving them a pause.
At this moment, Russia is simply shaping the battlefield and killing Ukrainian soldiers. Four entire units surrendered in the past 3 weeks. Leaflets are raining down on Ukrainian positions telling them how to surrender, and it is working.
The EU commissioned survey two months ago across Western Ukraine and only 16% of the population were willing to resist Russia. They also found 100,000 Ukrainian men defected to Russia since last year.
The May Victory Parade isn’t for a week, so from about May 10th onward we can expect to hear of the Russian Offensive. It will probably start immediately but the timeframe is thru the end of June for beginning operations after softening up the Ukrainian Army.
Odessa is going to captured, the French pushed aside, and the Brits and Americans gone as well. For the Record: When Russia gets to Odessa, they will surround the city and conduct a seige. By that time there will not be much left unless Ukraine sends massive reinforcements to the Odessa area - it is very lightly manned.
I view this war as simple repudiation of both Obama and Biden Admin’s. This is the Democrats debacle. Since 1975 when Biden voted to break our treaty with Viet Nam, the Democrats have sold out the US Military or our allies - today they are selling out both the American people and the our country, along with the EU and Ukraine. Russia is probably going to unleash some sort of retailation across the world that will affect the Western Oil interests.
