Alan Dershowitz, a longtime trial lawyer and former attorney for Donald Trump, says that the ex-president's jury at his New York hush money trial is bad news for his one-time client.
Following three days of legal wrangling a panel of seven men and five women has now been selected and they will assess his guilt or innocence over the coming weeks.
Dershowitz, 85, says that the makeup of the jurors - who include a corporate lawyer, an investment banker, a software engineer and a teacher - suggest Trump will fare poorly.

The entire Republican Party should be displaying outrage at this lawfare and these kangaroo courts. Instead, we hear practically nothing from them.
I find the corporate lawyer encouraging. No idea how the prosecution let him on board unless they know something we don’t. If he’s a lawyer of any skill and integrity (yes, they do exist), he should see right through the legal games the prosecution is going to have to play (and has been playing).
The clue in all this is that they more likely than not read the New York Times...and that's not to read "good news" about Trump.
Oh and the engineer. They tend to deal with facts and reality.
Somehow, I had a curious impression that lawyers could not serve on a jury, because they had a certain quirk of mind, that they could interpret laws so it came out with the completely opposite meaning of the original intent of the law.
Probably a difference without a distinction in this instance. The judge is going to instruct the jury to ignore the original intent of the applicable statutes anyway.
Any jury in Manhattan will find him guilty...on all counts
Any jury in DC will find him guilty...on all counts
Any jury in Fulton County will find him guilty...on all counts
A trial in Miami could very well end with a hung jury
All that you wrote I agree with.
We live in a fascist state. It won’t end well.
And I believe it's wrong not to reveal their identities. Someone may know something or some connection to "someone".
Late night, eh, CPB???
He’s likely hard core Democrat, that’s how. And lawyers are good liars so he likely played down his hatred for DJT during the jury selection.
Q... pfffft
That crap reminded me of tarot cards or some other BS.
Is the signed letter from Stormy Daniels even going to be admitted as evidence? It’s existence would seem to clearly be grounds for dismissal.
Look at how the media plays this game. Donald Trump - PORN STAR HUSH MONEY… blah blah blah. Donald Trump - FOUR TRIALS - Blah blah blah. J6ers and INSURRECTIONIST TRUMP SUPPORTERS … blah blah blah. The people serving on the jury - IF THEIR NAMES ARE FOUND OUT THEY ARE IN DANGER because -TRUMP SUPPORTERS. This is a 24/7 staged script. Anyone who picks up a newspaper or watches the media scripted news is facing a 24/7 barrage of anti-Trump propaganda that paints Trump and everyone of his supporters as EVIL! New Yorkers need to wake up and see that if they send Trump to jail there is nothing stopping Bragg or Communist Merchan from going after their families at will. One or two of the jury members need to hold out against this tyrannical persecution. I hope and pray that all of the members of the jury see what is going on.
When is that point?
Why didn’t he forego a Jury trial and go with the judge? The result would probably be the same, though the judge would be more careful about being overturned on appeal, and then Trump would have one high profile target with a visible history to attack vs 12 “citizens doing their civic duty”.
Can understand that viewpoint. If he was a personal injury attorney, I’d agree. 100%. But in my experience, corporate attorneys play lefty for business reasons but are generally conservative in private. (I’ve dealt with a lot of corporate attorneys and know several quite well.) Now given it is New York, I’d say the odds are about 50/50. JMHO.
I stand by my view about the engineer — they deal with facts. That’s their job. Worse person on a jury if you have a weak case is an engineer or registered nurse. Again, they deal with reality for a living and are not easily swayed by emotion.
Also, most litigators (I know several of those, too) hate having an attorney on the jury period. That’s a wild card and another lawyer advocating for his or her view in a place you cannot make objections etc.
A NY judge? LOL. Nope. This judge for example already clearly has it in for Trump.
It’s being planned and set up that way.
That’s the left’s end goal.
Any jury or no jury is meaningless. The outcome was predetermined long ago and is but one step in the process to keep him out of the White House.
