It is absurd that we wouldn't be monitoring over seas calls. How the hell do YOU think bad boys communicate these days...they pass notes??

He put a two year limit...so it will come up hopefully under a Trump administration.

And talk to Biden and Schumer about HR2. The House already passed it and it's sitting on Schumer's desk..it'll be a year in May.

Mike Johnson is a nice man

Nice and decent men don't break the promises like the one he made to the base on the border and Ukraine war.

He's either been bought off or being blackmailed because of some dark secret he has.

“It appears that the Dems have the Senate and Brandon has his magic pen.
Now what would you do if you were in Johnson’s shoes.”

I don’t pretend to know the complexities of his job (do you?), but my first thought is NOT “give them everything they want”. What’s your solution?

Now what would you do if you were in Johnson's shoes.

Keep my promise and refuse to allow a vote on funding for the war in Ukraine.

It was totally within his control to do so.

The excuses you are making for this SOB are laughable.

What does that have to do with spying on citizens without a warrant?

Now we know how Lincoln felt about Gen. McClellan.

I think that you may be Schumer. Or part of the forum disrupt squad.

Schumer threatened Supreme Court justices on national TV, and Republicans did nothing.
That’s pretty much all one needs to know about who’s in charge.
McConnell can kiss my royal a%%!

He could just do nothing. Don’t bring it to the floor.

Republicans seem to be in the number three position whether they are in the majority or the minority. I recall when the Republicans had the Senate, Democrats blocked almost everything. Now that the Democrats have the Senate, Republicans don’t seem to block anything.

It was bad enough when I accepted that the Republicans were the stupid party. It’s even worse now that I realize they are the party of collusion. Stupid people can possibly learn.

Alas, my experience has been that “nice” people are often the first to duck out when they should be in the fight. It is not a matter of being bought off or blackmailed. They are, to use an old term, chicken-hearted.

replace him with the meanest, toughest, most aggressive pro-MAGA S.O.B. among them

And hope that new boss doesn't sell us out, or get swindled like his or her predecessor.

You have a point. But rather than cry, let us have a laugh about it.

Do you remember Kelly's Heroes?

Kelly (Clint Eastwood) and his group of WW II freebooters have gone behind enemy lines with the aim of robbing a bank loaded with Nazi gold -- but they find the bank guarded by a near invincible Tiger tank.

Crapgame (Don Rickles) urges that instead of a hopeless fight that puts their single Sherman tank against the Tiger: "Make a DEAL!"

Big Joe (Telly Savalas): "What kind of deal?"

Crapgame: "A DEAL, DEAL! Maybe the guy’s a Republican. Business is business, right?"

And so, after a brief parley, the Tiger tank is show blowing the doors off the bank, giving them all access to a large pile of gold bars.

Alas, when there is a pile of our gold bars at stake, the Republican leadership often seem to cut a deal even if they are sitting in the political equivalent of a Tiger tank.

Yes, making a sane deal is better than Hakeem voted speaker. It will never be perfect with the current RINOs sitting there.

Yes.

But people still don’t believe that.

Folks really still believe that the elections are mostly fair, their elected officials nationally represent them, that the Intel and federal law enforcement have not been politicized, that all these bureaucracies serve their and national interests and are somehow constitutional, that they have rights.

Meanwhile Johnson (a so called conservative) will vote for more money going to Ukraine, he’ll vote to continue the FISA program, and not one dime more will go to our Southern border...
