Australia is preparing for war in order to avoid it. Their historic new increase in defense spending and China’s dependence on them for iron ore make them an important ally. Australia’s defense funding for 2024 will be $35 billion USD, just over 2% of their GDP, and up from $20 billion in 2021. They’ve signed a new trilateral security agreement with the United States and United Kingdom that will give the Australian Navy a new weapon that only 6 other nations in the entire world have. Major upgrades are being made to their northern army, air and naval bases. But all of this was done at a major cost. China has boycotted $4 billions of dollars worth of Australian products in an attempt to coerce them into bending to their will.

Australia and it’s 25 million people are going to fight who?
Given the way they treated their civilians during the “pandemic”, one wonders who they will use the arms against.
For practice the lads should get some Diggers together, put on some tin hats and sail into the Gallipoli Peninsula.
An army of drunks with shotguns shooting desert vermin.
China is a threat to the U.S.?
Is this why nearly everything in the U.S. is made in Communist China? They’re a big threat to the U.S., yet we make them rich?
Sounds like another U.S. government sponsored con job.
Deter China in alliance with the US and UK, so they don’t have to fight. Try listening to the video.
“Is this why nearly everything in the U.S. is made in Communist China? They’re a big threat to the U.S., yet we make them rich?”
So stop doing it. That’s part of the reason WHY China is a threat to the US. Trump had the right idea.
Given that I lived there for two years in the 1970s; it is so sad to see that country come to this. They always had much more sense.
Well, that’s one reason they are a threat. If they decided to stop sending any (legal) pharmaceuticals to the U.S. tomorrow, it would probably lead to the greatest disaster in U.S. history.
The Ausie military is a force to be reckoned with, whatever you might say about the civilians. They’ve made their bones in every military contest involving the US for over a hundred years.
A year or two ago there was a story that France was royally pissed at the Aussies because they chose American companies to build their submarines.
They probably did not want the submarines to up and surrender.
They are going to fight China that is 53 times bigger than them and owns half of their country.
And considering the endless financial and human costs of the Covid nonsense, one wonders how Australia will PAY for all of this.
With the UK? The UK is going to fight China? They couldn’t even repeat the Falklands war. The Indian Navy and Japanese navies are far more powerful than the British navy that surrenders within sight of it’s own warships. And they are going to do it from across the planet? LOL
China would wipe them out in an afternoon.
Moreover, agents of foreign powers are in crucial positions, all up and down Australian institutions. We don't know who they are, until a crisis strikes. I think there would be more than one supposes.
In that case, thank gawd for Communist China. Is there any thing else we can do to help them out?
If you want peace, prepare for war.
Someone famous said that a long time ago.
L
Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus had it right back in Rome.
