Ron DeSantis hosts donors at South Florida casino with an eye toward what's next. The idea of running for president again in 2028 did not come up directly, but attendees said you could "read between the lines."

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis gathered about 100 top supporters and donors over the weekend at South Florida’s Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to say “thank you” — and to foreshadow what might be next.

DeSantis supporters see those moves, along with the weekend event at the Hard Rock, as clear signs the Florida governor is once again eyeing a White House bid.

The main event Saturday evening featured DeSantis speaking with Reps. Chip Roy, R-Texas, and Thomas Massie, R-Ky.,

He needs to repair his image nationally,” said one of the attendees. “I don’t know anyone is going to be like sending him to Pennsylvania right now, and I don’t know that that would do any good.”

desanctimonious is still campaigning with his daily attempts at media face time press conferences....

But desantis has shown what a lying, manipulative, corrupt, unlikable swamp rino uniparty puppet he is, and he's got little support except from nevertrumping supporters now.

Can’t you find a Dem to pick on. Ron is good for Florida...you think he’s not good for this world. Get over it.

Look, I was always going to vote for Trump in the NH Primary, but I was shocked at what a bad candidate RDS was.

He needs to go to candidate school if he wants to do a national race again.

If I had to make a bet, it won’t be the last we hear of DeSantis.

He’s young, is a good governor, Republican talent is slim, and he’ll have plenty of time to recover from his first *political defeat.

*I don’t recall DeSantis ever losing an election, but haven’t checked out his election history.

We already know what he’s good for. Not keeping his word to the people who elected him, using the State Legislature to benefit himself politically, and monetarily, and then finally crawling back to Florida to do the job he took an oath to do all along.

I'll never vote for that self-serving prig.

They can’t wait to bring back the GOPe. So they can once again be credible by contrast as the “true conservatives”.

As long as Trump is there, they look like the fakes they are compared to a real conservative nationalist.

These sorts of antics by the supposed “Right” of the Regime conservatives is not unique to the United States.

I see the same tactics by the right of the Conservative Party in the UK, in Australia, and in Canada.

Its purpose is to cut off any real conservative nationalist populists.

This is a prior article on the event....

Where it notes desanctimonious has changed his tone from being enthusiasticly looking forward to 2028.....

to he doesn't have any plans for the future...

https://floridapolitics.com/archives/667766-ron-plans-future-2028/

You know if there were any real big money donors there, urging him to run again, he'd be putting forth grandious statements of big things to come...

🤣

Agreed. He looked too programmed on the campaign trail with his responses to the media and his interactions with the rank and file.

If DeSantis is not ready to ENFORCE STATE SOVEREIGNTY and TAKE DOWN MOST of the unconstitutional fed gov’t he’s NOT the guy for 2028...

It will just be back to corrupt DC politics as usual and good-bye America.

Conservatives in Florida love DeSantis the way liberals in Massachusetts loved Ted Kennedy.

And yes, Massachusetts liberals don't like the way DeSantis governs in Florida. And that is OK.

I agree. I was not warm with DeSantis, but he got a hell of an education. If he ran in 2028, I might very well vote for him.

"Conservatives in Florida love DeSantis the way liberals in Massachusetts loved Ted Kennedy."

At least he won't have to worry about running for relection in Florida, in order to find out just how much Conservatives there "love" him.
