Conservative groups backing former president Donald Trump in his re-election bid say they are "deeply disappointed" with his official position on abortion unveiled Monday, but it won't deter their support in November.
The former president and presumptive GOP nominee in a video posted on Truth Social Monday morning said he cemented his position on the controversial issue, saying that abortion access should be a states’ issue and didn’t endorse a national, federal limitation – like a 15-week ban.
Pro-life interest groups who have endorsed Trump expressed disappointment at his announcement, but it appears unlikely to sway their support in consideration of Trump’s overall stance compared to Biden’s extreme abortion policy.
"The reality of a stark choice between President Biden who supports abortion: any number, any reason, up until birth, all paid for by the taxpayer and President Trump: who gave us three Constitutionalist justices, 220 lower court judges, appointees who support life and the overturn of Roe v. Wade has my endorsement and support in November for President," said Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America (CWA), who said she "favors federal limits on abortion."

Abortion is abortion. What do you mean limits? Setting how many weeks changes nothing because it is still abortion
Abortion is back to the States to set policies on abortion.
The overturn of Roe V Wade takes it out of being a federal policy which is what Roe was. By doing that it makes it wrong to reset it as a federal policy to switch it to no abortion.
If Trump wades into something like this now it will guarantee that a case like Roe will be reinstated federally because he will lose the election and the dems are talking about expanding the SCOTUS to 13.
Abortion will continue until when and if people decide to see how barbaric and horrible it is.
You said “voters chose”. That should tell you something. The democrats and vichy GOP would reinstate Roe in a heartbeat and it will take away the current state no abortion laws that do exist now.
I totally agree with that and I also don’t think we should be funding abortion in foreign countries.
Thank you. Good post.
+1
Well, the US is noted for “lip service”. One nation, UNDER GOD, is to give God total authority over our lives. I’m thinking we aren’t doing that so well.
“This was always Trump’s position. He never backed a national ban and always indicated this was a Tenth Amendment matter. “
As far back as 2015.
“ Trump has always been very weak on the life issue.”
Is he better than Biden? If your answer is “yes”, then STFU.

Roe wasn’t 12 weeks. There was a companion bill, Doe vs Bolton, which allowed abortion on demand “if the health of the mother was at stake.” That term included physical, mental, emotional and socio-economic health. As long as a “healthcare professional” signed off on it, you got your abortion up until the delivery date. The only problem was finding someone to perform a third-trimester abortion, which was a very expensive procedure. Even so, 10% of abortions (approximately 100,000) were late term.
Trump’s adherence to the Constitution troubles you?
So who will you be voting for? Biden? 🤣
That was 40 yrs ago FFS. In case you haven’t noticed, times have changed. Reagan came of age when abortion wasn’t ever discussed because it was so abhorrent. Trump grew up in NYC where abortion was legal in 1970 and ppl were very much talking about it during the women’s movement. To hold them both to the same standard is disingenuous.
It was always supposed to be a states issue.
I see you are still here trolling...
SMH. Did you read anything I wrote? Your so obsessed with bashing Reagan you can’t even think.
Will you be voting for Biden? Like the left, you think all conservative speech should be supressed.
Sure, Jan. 🤣
Roe was first trimester. That’s 3 months, this 12 weeks.
You think politician shouldn’t be criticized on conservative issues.
I never bashed Reagan. However, the reality is he couldn’t be elected in these times. Not to acknowledge that problem means you’re the one who can’t think.
OK, then, what part of the Federal Constitution supports a federal law opposing abortion. The only part I can think of that might do it is the 9th Amendment, if you can interpret it to include the right of innocent people to their lives. But nobody else seems to support that one, so I’m not sure how far we could get with it.
The portions of the Constitution that prohibit the taking of life, liberty and property without due process of law appears to apply to government agencies.
