LOS ANGELES -- Thieves stole as much $30 million in an Easter Sunday burglary at a Los Angeles money storage facility in one of the largest cash heists in city history, police said Wednesday.
The burglary occurred Sunday night at an unnamed facility in the Sylmar area of the San Fernando Valley where cash from businesses across the region is handled and stored, LA Police Department Commander Elaine Morales told the Los Angeles Times.
The burglars were able to breach the building as well as the safe where the money was stored, Morales said.

I'm assuming an inside job. It had to be someone familiar with their operations.

How strange that businesses are storing their cash in such a facility instead of in banks.

This is almost a carbon copy of the movie Den of Thieves (2018).
criminals hatch an elaborate plan for a seemingly impossible heist — the city’s Federal Reserve Bank.

People who can’t use banks or credit unions. They probably don’t exist on paper anywhere, either. So the thieves should probably watch their backs.

You don’t “store” your money in a bank. You lend it to them. It’s no longer “your” money. You become one of their creditors.
Good luck getting it back when the bank fails.
