Maybe the business involved like to keep their dealings private. Banks are required to report to Fedgov movement of cash exceeding $10,000 or more, and of course you can be charged with the felony of ‘structuring’ if you deliberately deposit somewhat less than $10K to avoid the reporting.
There used to be a time when your money was your business ill-gotten or not. Now, in the name of fighting crime, movements of cash are the government’s business and any large movements are treated as suspicious activity, innocent or not.
Previous of these heists it was currency being moved to a better place to put it in the bank. Fun part of international airlines, because money isn’t the same value everywhere, and they have all these planes, so if they’ve got a bunch of Marks and the rounding on exchange says they’ll get 1% more value putting them in a bank in France, then they ship em to France. Not sure the world is a wild and wooly today, but I’m sure the airlines know.
“How big is $30 mil and how much does it weigh?”
At least 660 pounds, if it is in all hundred dollar bills. It would take up about 12 cubic feet of space. For example, 3x2x2 feet. It could be easily stacked and carried on one standard wooden pallet.
A million dollars in hundreds will fit in a standard backpack and weigh around 22 pounds.
Smaller denominations of bills would be larger and heavier for the same amounts, of course. At one gram each, all American bills are approximately the same weight and size.
With Republican help.
Sounds like a money laundering operation. Business aka drug dealers.
Small change.
That’s 15 minutes worth of the cash added to the National Debt....a million every 30 seconds.
In Kalifornica, "Minority Contractors" get used first.
Coolio's Cold Hard Cash...Sylmar, Kalifornica.
Reminds me of an old OLD movie from 1967. WHOSE MINDING THE MINT?
Good point. Thank you.
