President Trump should choose Ben Carson. He would be the calm stoic face that Pence provided.

The others will be focused on their future as a potential President and if anything will deflect from President Trump. Being used by the Media as a comparison to exploit any differences the two may have.

And for those calling for a female choice, I would like to see the polling data that suggests it will make a difference. More likely the Media will use it as an opportunity.

Trump won’t pick another Deep Stater.

That’s what matters.

Especially to Deep State.

His choice of V.P. does matter. We saw that with Pence who had no loyalty, and that is what Pres. Trump needs. Ben Carson would make a good one, so would some others, I have great respect for Gov. Greg Abbot, the man has some stones for sure. But I don’t think he’s interested, more for continuing to lead Texans, I think.

The deep state needs to know his VP choice right away so they can begin lawfare proceedings and muckraking actions ASAP!

Trump is not as polarizing as the liberal. The liberal cannot be placated unless he is getting his socialism and he won’t settle for anything less.

Yes the VP matters. I hear people (even here) say they like Gabbard for example, JFK and a few others. I have never voted for a dem in almost 50 years and not going to start now as the GOPe is filthy and despicable enough.

Also this time it is different for of us too as it will be only be one term also for Trump as the VP often runs for the presidency.

If it’s someone who can guarantee one of the big swing states (MI...PA) for DJT then it’s important. I must say that I like Ben Carson...but I’ve seen it written that he doesn’t want the job.

Yes it matters. In fact its critical. Its not so much because his choice of VP will sway large numbers of voters. Its critical because if he picks somebody (Noem, Scott, etc) the Deep State is comfortable with, he will almost certainly be dead within a year. Conversely, if he picks somebody they are as or even more afraid of like JD Vance, Kari Lake, etc he’ll be just fine.

Think that’s “conspiratorial”? These people have already proven time and time again that they will stop at nothing to preserve their own power.

Unless he were to make some horrible choice, like Vivek or something, no his vp choice won’t matter much.

A bad choice has major downside, while the upside of a hood or great choice is more limited.

It matters for what comes after - matters a lot on if we can hold the line and/or continue to move forward in the right direction.

And an ACTUAL Christian, as opposed to Thirty Pence.

I like Dr. Carson. But I am not sure he will be strong enough to carry the America First political agenda forward once Trump has left the scene. After all, in Trump’s case, that is the principal point for picking a Trumpian successor. And to that end, I can think of no better candidate for Trump’s VP pick than Allen West.

VP matters because of his age.

Prefer that he not choose a woman.

Ben Carson would be good — Mr. Steady Eddie. He’d be stupid, though, to want to be entrenched in that cesspool again. And he’s not stupid.

“...The others will be focused on their future as a potential President and if anything will deflect from President Trump...”

I like Ben Carson, but I'm not sure.

I think that no matter how stellar it promises to be, the Liberals will so totally trash Trump's administration, that any VP in that administration will be tarred with the same brush...and in a weak position to run later on his/her own.
