Three British aid workers killed in Gaza named

Three British aid workers have been killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza.

John Chapman, James Henderson and James Kirby were among the seven World Central Kitchen workers killed in Monday's strike, the BBC has learned.

The charity has paused its operations and said the other victims were Australian, Polish, Palestinian and a US-Canadian citizen.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the deaths "appalled" him. Israel said they were killed by an "unintended strike".

Australian national Lalzawmi Frankcom, Polish national Damian Sobol, Palestinian Saif Abu Taha and US-Canadian citizen Jacob Flickinger were among the others killed in the strike.

The team had been leaving the Deir al-Balah warehouse, where it had unloaded food aid, according to the charity.

The convoy was made up of three vehicles, including two that were armoured, which clearly displayed the charity's logo. All three were hit during the strike.

The UK summoned the Israeli ambassador over the deaths - the first time this has happened in 12 years - and Mr Sunak demanded an investigation in a call with Israel's PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

Conservatively, at least 4 million have died in Jihadi wars since 1080. That filthy religion controls more territory, money and wealth than Imperial Japan did. They have projected their random violence into the homelands of America, Russia, France, Indonesia, Germany, Spain and the UK with success the Japanese never dreamed of.

The Israelis are correct to have an all out war and utterly destroy them. They recognize what this is.

And what the hell do you mean you are “weary” of this war? Did a woman in you family get raped to death with her legs pulled out of socket? Did your grandma get murdered?
How exactly does it make you tired?

You’re expanding it to cover the Arab nations

I understand you better now

As for being weary it’s just the daily headlines.

They’re not helpful is what i’m saying

Winning the PR battle is important in ‘24, maybe not so in ‘45 when we were ALL galvanized in a world war effort.

It’s a little different DR!!

“It’s not easy but the IDF have lots of experience in this kind of warfare and should know to be more careful?”

Translation, get extra IDF infantry killed rather than use artillery and air. Do so in the name of not killing the Gaza people who support Hamas.

Not one extra IDF man should lose his life in the name of “being careful”. Our retarded generals did that in Afghanistan. Gave up our tremendous supporting arms advantage to reduce collateral damage. And we took massive amounts of unnecessary dead because of that.

The world can use those Israeli men. Gaza people mean very little and bring nothing good to the world.

We spent 20 years in Afghanistan 😔

A stubborn enemy with AKs. It’s a better comparison than to Japan.

What are the lessons from Afghanistan? Maybe Israel can learn from US/UK defense forces if called upon but they haven’t even asked

I have many concerns but I'm trying to debate with several posters and it's not easy.

I'm in a minority here. A very small minority.

The PR battle means nothing. The Jews will never get an even break and the sympathy for Israel only lasted till they fought back.
A week into the invasion we were already clamoring for a ceasefire and negotiations, humanitarian corridors etc.
The world said “how awful” then we were flooded with wailing stories of innocent refugees and mean old Israel. Then it was on to more “two state” propaganda.

Sometimes the PR battle gets ignored and you have to drop bombs on them regardless of the PR, which will never be in your favor anyway.

We didn’t fight to win, never tried to define win parameters, made no effort to achieve win parameters, leadership refused to identify or describe the enemy effectively, leadership also decided to try and institute liberal style “values” to Afghanistan i.e. gay pride and the like when the psychology of the area wouldn’t be accepting of it.
Then they turned it into a jobs program and social experiment beyond even the above, recall our troops having to show “courageous restraint” under fire so that we didn’t offend the enemy.
Yet war is the business of offending the enemy so badly they take their dolls, run home and then refuse to play with you anymore.
That’s part of what should have been learned, but our military leadership was and remains braindead to such realities.

Personally, I think they're wasting their time. Set up two camps. Round up women and children in one camp. Then all the men in the other camp. Assume every male is a Hamas terrorist.

Then wait out the terrorists hiding in the tunnels. Eventually, they'll starve to death. Even if it takes a year.

We forgot how we fought in WWII with the brief exception of the first Gulf War when we destroyed Saddam's army in Kuwait.

Maybe Israel could be falling into that trap?

20 year war like that will degrade them.

They must have a plan to bring this to a conclusion if not they should get one

“wipe them out” mentality is not going to work just like in Vietnam or Afghanistan.

How do you do it? you can’t. The stubborn enemy with AKs and a few rockets can be surprisingly resilient.

The world is different to 1945.

They did learn from us in Afghanistan. You don’t murder your own soldiers to reduce the violence against the enemy.

The Extortion 17 disaster is a classic example. The Rangers saw an enemy force and had been engaged. Rather than roll in and drop a few thousand pounders on the enemy position, rather than Let the AC-130 go after them with the 105mm and 40mm, we decided it had to be an infantry fight. We sent in a flying clown car packed with 33 SEALS.

That was because we were “careful”. “American rules of engagement were tightened by Gen. Stanley McChrystal in 2009 in order to improve American counterinsurgency strategy. McChrystal cited a previous “overreliance on firepower and force protection” and the need to reduce civilian casualties and win the cooperation of the local population”.

You don’t EVER trade grunt lives for good PR. It’s depraved.

What our leadership learned from GW1 Desert Storm was “pretty visuals and media embeds equals victory”.
They didn’t even bother with what worked.

Doesn’t need to be 20 years of war.
Just identify the target, lock it down, and eliminate it.
Fight to win, to hell with the whiners.
The media will lie and manufacture BS anyway, so what difference does it make on that front?
Hamas has been running their own little dystopia in Gaza for years, the population is terrified of being retaliated against if they do anything one way or the other.

History is replete with many lessons. Especially post-45.

Israel could ask for advice but they’re not.

Personally I think Bibi is not prosecuting this war well.

Many Israeli citizens will agree with me and there is plenty of dissent.

FR is even more supportive than some citizens!

Look at my threads. I’m in a total minority but I think time will vindicate me

I know what you mean. But the great Arab war tradition is fight to a point, then cease fire and evacuate all the fighters.
We evacuated the PLO from Lebanon. We let ISIS escape when their capitol was surrounded.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/2/21/hundreds-evacuated-from-isils-last-syria-holdout#:~:text=Hundreds%20of%20people%2C%20including%20women,sliver%20of%20the%20%E2%80%9Ccaliphate%E2%80%9D.

They are not accustomed to complete merciless devastation and complete capitulation.

It’s a very good object lesson for all the surrounding moslems that the game has changed and they CAN go too far.

Desert Storm was.
But that’s because it was pretty well defined and mostly executed as planned minus snafus and egos here and there.

We (the US) don’t have leadership of that caliber these days.
But looking over some of what IDF has been doing, they seem to.
But politicians LOVE to screw things up because, again, ego and attaboys are more important to politicians than actual solutions and outcomes.
