Democrats are eyeing Florida as a state they can make gains in as it is on the verge of having one of the strictest abortion bans in the country and abortion rights will be directly on the ballot there in November.
The Florida Supreme Court upheld the state's 15-week abortion ban on Monday and paved the way for a six week ban to go into effect in 30 days. Six weeks is often before a woman knows she is pregnant.
The ruling was met with outrage by Democrats and abortion rights activists in the state and nationally, but it could also be an energizing issue going into the November election.
President Biden called the decision outrageous on Tuesday.
'Yesterday’s extreme decision puts desperately needed medical care even further out of reach for millions of women in Florida and across the South,' the president said in a statement.
'This decision means that millions of women in Florida and across the Southeast will likely live in an even more cruel reality where they face a choice between putting their lives at risk or traveling hundreds or thousands of miles to get care,' said Vice President Kamala Harris, who has taken a leading role on reproductive rights in the administration, in a separate statement.

A six week abortion time limit - on the ballot - in Florida?
I have not heard one word about this.
My first reaction - this ballot initiative was sponsored by crypto-Democrats!
If true - this one initiative will generate the highest Democrat turn out in Florida history.
Senator Rick Scott (R) - up for reelection in 2024 - won his 2018 election by 0.12% - just over 10,000 votes, out of 8.2 million.
So Joey wants to be a “Florida Man”??!!!
I truly hope he can focus.
They’re trying to put pot legalization on the ballot too. It worked in other states.
Don’t put this past them. They’ll do it.
This is a Call To Arms to women across the country. Put it on the ballot in one state - others will follow. They think abortion helped them in 2020 so they are doubling and trippling down on it. Plus what else are they going to run on ?
And it should never be.
I mean helped them in 2022.
I hope so.
Nobody is buying Biden’s bullshit.
I know I’m not.
“anybody can get their abortion in any number of states...all the court ruled is the feds have no say in it....
pubs acting like the wimps they are...”
“otherwise, I don’t believe in elections anymore....they are totally fraud...”
Three points made in your post. Three bulls’ eyes.
“Stop Killing Babies”
Frame the issue properly, and vigorously. Paint the democrats as a death cult ... not hard to do since it’s what they are.
I’m confused. He says Trans are “God’s children” but aborts other God’s children.
Ok, sure.
Sorry, that's incorrect.
DeSantis won the state by 19.4% in 2022, against a former Republican governor, who switched parties.
DeSantis won Dade County by 10% - which was clearly amazing.
I somehow don’t think there will be an issue with abortion in Florida as over 19% of the voters are over 65. And when you consider that abortion is no longer a federal issue then aren’t the feds at that point just doing wasted activism? And for many of those that are there, they left liberal states like California to get away from stupid liberal issues being driven down their throats and will be negative on having to listen to someone try to drive it again. Bad approach.

I don't think the GOP is ready for the massive turn out by the states where abortion is on the referendum. We have to give the people what they want. We will see nearly 100% by female voters for the Democratic Party. With that kind of turnout, there's an outside chance that Trump will lose Florida in 2024. I don't think it'll happen but it's a possibility.
This seems weird, considering that FL is FULL of senior citizens with so many enclaves like The Villages. Even though STDs are rampant there, doubtful that many are seeking abortions, or give a crap about abortions.
