Pennsylvania’s presidential vote won’t be decided in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh Post Gazette ^ | 24 March 2024 | Salena Zito

JOHNSTOWN — Joe Burkhart is busy working at his job as a maintenance manager at a processor here in Cambria County. Like many people who have spent their career working with their hands, he knows that unexpected layoffs and companies who have been around for decades suddenly shuttering their doors is part of today’s technological revolution.

Like many people around here born in the 1960’s, Burkhart says he was born and raised a Democrat. “Everyone in my family was a Democrat, its just what you did,” he said, adding when he first started looking for work as an adult being a Democrat was basically a requirement to get a job. “Especially a union job.”

Then Barack Obama ran for reelection in 2012 and the party went from a coalition that included New Deal Democrats like Burkhart to a “coalition of the ascendant” centered on minorities, the millennial generation and progressive college educated upscale whites, especially women — a coalition that had its beginnings with Al Gore’s candidacy.

What an ignorant article. PA’s votes will be decided in Washington or Beijing, just like the last time.

I think she is syndicated, not exclusive to the Post-Gazette.

Yep, it's amazing.

I've been a fan and emailer with Salena for decades {she sometimes even reply's to my emails}.

The old Trib was an excellent paper when Mellon was still alive and kept the commies at bay, but today, you cannot even read the opinion pages, they are so far left.

Mrs. Alaska still wants the Trib in hard copy but I skim it on-line because there is not much to read...most of our sports teams having been losing, only a few comics are even half funny, but if I'm not in the obits, it's gonna be a good day:)

So if you believe that I assume you’ll stay home?

Which is just what the Democrat/communists want.

If you don’t believe but wish to damage Republican enthusiasm that is just what Democrat/communists want.

Either way you have no proof that will happen and know very little about the changes at the RNC.

“Four years later he came up short. “

So why read on? He came up short. The author is throwing anecdotes and analytics in support of a trend then dismisses it accepting that result then goes back to making her original argument. Why should anyone subject themselves to any more of her drivelings if she’s either to stupid or cowardly to state the exact truth (which supports her argument by the way).

You are living in a fantasy land if you think your vote still matters.

voting by mail does not start until the primaries are over.

So, the vote will be decided around July, just like it was in 2020 and 2022.

Zito is one of the best reporters in the country. Keen eye and original insights unlike all the rest.

Zito’s columns appear frequently on Townhall.com. She spends a lot of time talking to average Americans.

Trump will not win PA because republicans have not addressed the problem. Commie, baby killer, republicans will not vote republican at the top of the ticket. They haven’t in the last 4 elections. that is a 2-3% defection to the democrats at the state and national level. a 4-6% real number switch. Check any republican precinct and observe how many votes the democrat Supreme court nominee got over a good republican candidate.

She may still be. I have no idea if she still is or is not. But she used to post in this forum under her own name before she became famous.

Contrary to the article, Clinton got less votes in Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) in 2016 than Obama did.

Although she still got more than Trump, the difference with the rural votes was enough to carry the state for Trump.

That gave him PA’s electoral votes and the presidency.

In 2020, because of covid, observers of the vote count had to watch the count through monitors connected to cameras.

The problem was that absentee ballots which had to be folded to be inserted into the envelopes couldn’t be scanned. Those were taken into another area to be hand counted. There was no camera in that area.

That info came from a GOP observer of the count via a private conversation. Judicial Watch also had an observer present. Subsequently Judicial Watch sued Pennsylvania and several other states to clean up their voter roles. Pennsylvania removed over 200,000 names.

“You are living in a fantasy land if you think your vote still matters.”
People like me pull the wagon that people like you are content to sit in.
You really don’t understand much about the American character so let me help you out here. A significant majority of Americans of all groups have no intention of quietly nodding and getting on the trains.
If you were taught otherwise go and get your money back.
Never bet against America because those that do live in a fantasy world.

2020 proved the opposite. We saw a group of Marxists illegally seize power and how many people did anything about it?
