Agreed. Excessive Bathory.
It just so happens that the Chink is correct.
Ford and GM and Stelantis are all in trouble. Ford stock is a miserable $12. No body wants to buy it.
GM makes no profit on cars sold in North America. GM profit comes from sales in China. GM minority ownership in China is over and so are the profits.
I am interested in the notion of 100% tariffs on China cars made in Mexico. Is there going to be 100% tariffs on Mexican Fords and GM cars as well.
The blood bath is already in process as the water is now filling the tub.
Unless Trump overcomes the election theft.
“ My answer is “nothing good”. America in many ways is crippling itself based on unproven fears of global warming.”
Yes. It’s irrational.
It’s so irrational it has to be deliberate.
“It’s so irrational it has to be deliberate.”
Could it be that our minds are being invaded?
Trump can’t stop the auto industry bloodbath. He can’t control the market with a deal
“Can one EV share “fuel” with another?”
Newer ones are being designed to do vehicle to X bidirectional power as HVDC native to the pack level or 240, 480, 600V single or three phase ac depending on the continent they are located in. So yes a EV with the newest 800V tech and V2X can pass power to another EV as high voltage DC current direct or as single or triple phase commercial voltage AC. There are a number of companies making trailers that have battery packs in them that output HVDC directly to a dedicated trailer patch plug doubling the range of a EV with a trailer and allowing for power at the camp site from the trailer battery. The ones I saw also had solar roof and fold out awnings the solar alone could add 40 or more miles per day range.
What is surprising is no one has thought to take a small 2cyl engine and hook it up to a high voltage alternator then into silicon rectifiers with modern SiC diodes 1000v is the standard now. A full sized model S uses 260 wh mile at freeway speeds. At 75mph that’s an average of 19.5kw call it 20kw. 600cc two cylinder easily put out 60hp that’s 45kw or twice what a Tesla S is using at hwy speeds. Spin a 440V alternator into SiC diodes and feed that directly via a dedicated plug on the trailer hitch to the battery bus the alternator can load follow the pack voltage as charge sustaining or go slight over voltage and push 20kw back into the pack while at speed.
A little 600cc plus high-speed alternator would weigh less than a couple hundred lbs light enough to not need a trailer just a class 2 hitch that can take a 500lb hitch mounted shelf. Mount the little genny in the windshadow on that hitch mounted shelf with 5 to 10 gal of ethanol to keep the greens happy. That’s 250 to 500 miles range added to 400 for a Model S no one drives 900 miles and doesn’t stop at least once for 10 min not even truckers who by law have to stop.
The math shows that you should get around 50 mpg running that little 600cc at 75% max output filling the pack up as you drive then at 80% shut down and cycle the pack down to 50% then start the genny again and put 30% back in while at full speed. Basically turning a Tesla into a hybrid but the motor is removable therefore rentable only when really needed which for most is once or twice a year to make a 600+ mile one way nostop at all trip.
Rent the RangeX module <<< following Elons love of X names for long trips or campsite / off grid power. Having 40+ kw at a worksite or campsite is multiple full sized homes worth of power.
