Zelenskyy: We need to think about how to hold elections, as currently the law forbids it
Ukrainska Pravda ^ | January 21, 2024

Posted on 03/16/2024 11:18:08 AM PDT by MinorityRepublican

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine "needs to think" about how to hold presidential elections, because at the moment they are prohibited by law during wartime.

Source: Zelenskyy in an interview for British TV programme Channel 4 News

Quote: "I haven’t postponed [the elections – ed.], it happens automatically. I’m just not able to hold them now, primarily because of the law which forbids me from doing it. It doesn’t just forbid me from holding elections, but all institutions in general.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine [the Ukrainian Parliament – ed.] has to vote and give a mandate for the elections. They [the MPs – ed.] have to raise this question and vote. They can’t do that due to the prohibition – they can’t break the law. The situation is that elections are forbidden during wartime.

And even if it were possible to do it, what would we do about the temporarily occupied territories, and how could we make these elections legitimate so that they would be recognised by the world if over 6 million Ukrainian citizens are abroad and they would need the infrastructure to vote, and we unfortunately don’t have a format for online voting?

If you ask me, I believe we do need to think about how to do it. If I could do it tomorrow, I would."

The Biden Regime and Demonicrats are busily trying to figure out a way to enforce martial law before November.

Russia DID NOT HAVE ELECTIONS. Putin murders both of the two main Russian patriotic figures of the past decade, uses his thugs at polling places, completely controls the apparatus of the sham and you call that an election??!! You must love North Korean elections. You were born to be a slave when you advocate just submitting to NeoSoviet aggression.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Russian_presidential_election

Russia had elections, while Ukraine which actually has assassinated 14-16 opposition political figures, has banned opposition parties, closed down news papers and radio stations that dare say anything derogatory, and went as far as banning HAM radio, has not had nor will have elections.

But of course your reasons are all good reasons for Ukraine acting the way they are.

How is is that a Texan’s view happens to coincide with all of Moscow’s fabrications? Of course in reality land you are probably a paid Russian troll, a whore for Putin, and that explains why you I have no heart for freedom-loving people.

Russian occupiers renamed Ukraine’s Liberty Plaza, after Lenin. They fly hammer and sickle flags, kidnap children, and engage in all manner of the old Soviet oppressions described by Solzhenitsyn and other dissidents. Now tell me some more lies troll. You cut and paste the same lies as the others. You admit you’re never set foot in Ukraine but insist that you’ in your fake Texas abode, know all about it. What a hideous Russian pig you are.

Facts, figures, sources... Anything?

Yup, war sucks.

You should of thought of that before you pressed forward with what surely was going to cause this mess.

This wasn’t my idea: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukrainian-president-zelenskiy-holding-talks-with-biden-adviser-says-2021-12-09/

As to the rest of your pathetic crying... It’s just one sided cherry picking for why the Russians are bad and Ukrainian’s are good. Same folk, doing the same things to each each other, in a war that was 100% avoidable.

Yeah, in war bombs miss targets, Intel makes mistakes, people take matters in their own hands...

This isn’t some stupid computer simulation where you press a reset button and have an AAR while drinking coffee in an ACed building. Civilians get stuck between the lines, there are economic consequences, crime, destruction of private property...

You think ALL of that didn’t happen when we invaded Iraq? War should not be a decision made lightly and when we pushed our NATO expansion we were setting the course for war.

It all comes back to this: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukrainian-president-zelenskiy-holding-talks-with-biden-adviser-says-2021-12-09/ Did you support this? If yes, then blame yourself.

You have no sources except Moscow. You addressed nothing I wrote. I have sources across Ukraine. You are obviously illogical and mentally ill and you are blindly loyal to Putin and his land grab operations. Enjoy your hammer and sickle slavery.

***How has this war made the average American more free, safe or wealthy?*** No pie in the sky abstract answer.

Don’t bother... Just blabber about communism or the Soviets and Ukraine winning.

Let’s see what Ukrainian town falls next?

The Ukrainians are fighting our fight and are weakening those who seek our destruction. Just remember the speaker of the Duma speaking seriously of “reversing the illegal transfer of Alaska.” It was all over Russian social media as well. Other popular topics on Russian social media include support for Hamas and Russia’s ability to “win” a nuclear war. Put that in your pipe and smoke it and quit using the pipe for weed or you’ll have absolutely no mind left at all.

My God… if we don’t give American taxpayers’ money to Ukraine and increase our national debt by countless billions…. Russian paratroopers will be landing in Fairbanks,

Quick, spread the word…RUSSIA!, RUSSIA!, RUSSIA! And tell them Hillary and Victoria sent you. ;-)

Our destruction?

So the Russians are building bases along our border with the world’s most powerful military alliance?

https://149358047.v2.pressablecdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/U.S.-versus-World-Military-Spending-2021.jpeg

Who invaded Iraq (under false pretences) and Syria, attacked Libya and sponsored a coup in Venezuela? Who’s been asked to leave by Nigeria but isn’t...

Who violated Minsk, lied about NATO East expansion, withdrew from the ballistic missile treaty, tries to violate Montreux?

Tell me, in all these countries we invade, for peace, democracy and human rights, who actually is democratic today?

They might not be democratic or respect human rights, but the jets of all US oil executives were already in Libya shortly after Kadafi died, as Benghazi happened. There might not be democracy in Syria, but we are guarding oil fields: https://www.npr.org/2020/03/06/812989398/in-syria-the-u-s-fight-to-protect-oil-fields

There is the US before and after the Cold War. Before and after 9-11. We once were defensive and actually did promote concepts like democracy.

Today, we are expansionist, expeditionary, offensive, willing to make deals with anyone and are quick to use force in order to advance our “economic interests.”

Ukraine is simply a political and economic interest, whereas Russia is who we want to strip of their oil producing frontier: Libya, Syria, Iraq, Venezuela.

But for Russia, having NATO and the US set up on their border in Ukraine is an existential threat. They aren’t threatening us, we are them.

Tell your democracy and peace fairy tales to your grandchildren.

“...But for Russia, having NATO and the US set up on their border in Ukraine is an existential threat. They aren’t threatening us, we are them...”

This is demonstrably false. If Russia was worried about the DEFENSIVE alliance of NATO on their borders, they should not have driven Finland to join NATO. Russia has a history of land grabs from Finland. And Sweden had a long and proud history of neutrality and yet Putin’s belligerence drove Sweden to abandon its traditional position and join NATO. Putin said, “Russia knows no borders” so how can NATO even be on their borders? Putin sent armored columns into the Republic of Georgia in a blatant land grab. Russia has a tradition of grabbing pieces of Georgia going back to Czarist times. Sochi, home of the Russian Winter Olympics site, was a Georgian town before Russia stole it.

And as for murders, your little ugly leprechaun Putin, was jealous of the handsome Boris Nemtsov, so he had him murdered near the Kremlin walls. Of course, Nemtsov was exposing Putin’s corruption and decadence too. Then your ugly little sickly man murdered the handsome Alexander Navalny. And you have the gall to say Russia has elections (YES, WITH DEAD OPPONENTS!!!!).

Do you still pretend to be a Texan? That’s a laugh!

NATO is not a defense alliance when it offensively attacked Libya, offensively attacked Serbia...

You argue using emotional slogans, not facts as you claim/pretend to have.

We have been trying to reform NATO post Cold war (the real push started with Rumsfeld), and while that was necessary regards the terrorist and asymmetrical threats today, we also have turned NATO from a purely defensive to an organization with offensive potential.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_military_intervention_in_Libya That was offensive.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_bombing_of_Yugoslavia Offensive

Russia does not see us as honoring any agreements, and frankly they are right. We will change our position and break a promise as fast as an administration changes out in the White House. Promises made by Congress and administration X are not honored by their successor Y.

Once NATO sets up in Ukraine, there is no turning back the clock and if we suddenly change our mind as with missile defense, the ballistic missile treaty, or whatever else, Russia has the world’s most powerful military alliance in their border, backed by the US which alone is ~ 2 times their military manpower (before the Ukraine war surge).

It’s an unacceptable situation we shoved Russia in and frankly you or I if Russian would have done the same thing they did. It’s “false outrage” to pretend like what they did is a surprise or wrong.

It all comes back to this, which you avoid talking about: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukrainian-president-zelenskiy-holding-talks-with-biden-adviser-says-2021-12-09/

At that point, we put Russia in a position where they can articulate a security threat for themselves. We can’t, they can.

So, an incursion into little Serbia means that NATO has an offensive threat against Russia? Ha!

All your bogus arguments are copied straight from your murderous Moscow regime’s trolls. Only a truly putrid Putinista pig would buy into them.

I avoid talking about nothing. Your worries about Zelensky talking to Biden are silly. Zelensky is just working the logistics angle brought on by Russia’s insane invasion.

https://www.fairobserver.com/world-news/the-wests-disastrous-decision-to-reject-peace-in-ukraine/

Ukraine was the Biden administration gambling and causing a war. It was a gamble where the risk and ROI made it a bad decision.

Then, instead of stopping when they did about the best you’re likely going to do (negotiate a deal after the Russians ran into some difficulty early on), these fools kept gambling only to lose more.

And here we are.

Sadly, Biden and his team does not get the credit for the mess they created. Protected by a very liberal pro Democrat MSM and Hollywood, and the the uni-party RINO Republicans that refuse to exploit this disaster to their advantage, as Kerry and Obama did with Iraq. Finally, since the Euros are on board, you get little media from there which is critical or even just interested in reporting the true nature, all the various facets, and scope of matters.

Biden is getting a near complete “get out of jail free” card on Ukraine even though this dimwitted man and his entourage of idiots caused this epic waste of life and wealth.

Was it worth it? : https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukrainian-president-zelenskiy-holding-talks-with-biden-adviser-says-2021-12-09/

Arming Ukraine was fine, even though in violation of Minsk, as was training them and providing Intel... But when (((we))) decided to give the green light for NATO under Biden, that changed everything. At that point it’s no longer a situation where we are making a land grab by Russia costly, now we put Russia in a position where they are threatened.
