House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) said Wednesday that he may refer members of the January 6 Committee to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution for hiding and destroying documents.
Loudermilk has been investigating the work of the January 6 Committee, and discovered last year that the Committee had destroyed documents and other records, despite being warned by then-incoming Speaker of the House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to preserve all of the evidence it had collected in months of investigations and closed-door testimony.
He told John Solomon of JusttheNews.com that it was possible members of the committee could face prosecution:

May. Perhaps. Itβs being considered. Itβs a possibility. It might happen. Or it might not. They are looking into it.
Of course the DOJ would do nothing anyway. But the House should do its job and get it in the public record.

Yes! Might just happen.
... in some alternate universe.

Since it was an illegitimate committee, where the Republicans were tossed and then replaced with Pelosi picked RINOs I think they;ve forfeited their protections.

Nah. The main stream media would stalk them, and call them bad names, like Hitler. Who wants to have to go through such harassment.

Let the J6 hostages out immediately, put the J6 commission in the same prison right away.
Don't clean up, let them languish in the same squalor for 4 years while we perform the second slowest investigation in DC history.

What is a session?
Don’t know, but I remember a Kennedy congressman wrecked his car at something like 2am drunk as a skunk and claimed he was going to a committee meeting and was let off. But Liz & Kinzinger have no protection anymore. Charge them, but D.O.J. will decline to prosecute.

Yeah, that was Patrick Kennedy who said he had taken Ambien and thought he had to go and vote.
Another case that went the other way (because he was a Republican) was Idaho Senator Larry Craig. Craig was arrested at the Minneapolis Airport and charged with lewd behavior for soliciting gay sex in a men's room. Craig said he had a "wide stance" and accidentally touched another man's foot while standing at a urinal.
Craig pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, but later tried to retract his guilty plea when it was pointed out that he might have had immunity based on the "going to and returning from the same" clause in the Constitution. However, I'd think that a solicitation charge might fall under the "Breach of the Peace" exception, unless that's for public drunkenness (in 1789) and participation in unlawful protests.

I think the odds are better this time around than in 2020. Pray for a positive outcome. They will still try to steal it, but I think White Hats will be watching like a hawk, and will come forth early & the courts will not be able to ignore the evidence. Let’s hope I am correct. I think a lot more people are seeing Trump in a totally different light, and Biden as well.
