If I could make a wish
I think I’d pass
Can’t think of anythin’ I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound
Nothing to eat, no books to read
Making love with you
Has left me peaceful, warm, and tired
What more could I ask
There’s nothing left to be desired
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel
Go to sleep
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Peace came upon me
And it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel
Go to sleep
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
In the lyrics, Glen doesn't say where his trip begins. I assume he is leaving from Palo Verde, Goodyear, or Buckeye, Ariz., or somewhere nearby. If he left from further west or south, he would likely be going through Flagstaff or Casa Grande instead of Phoenix.
In any case, he would have to keep his foot on the gas and hope he didn't run into any traffic jams or roadwork, because to get from Phoenix to the Oklahoma border at either Texhoma or Texola within the song's time frame, he would be driving mostly over two-lane highways in 1967.
Love walked out the door.’
Joe Cocker - Unchain My Heart
Elvis - I can’t stop loving you.
Elvis - Are you lonesome tonight
Sam Kinison - Are you lonesome tonight

They couldn't make a song like this today.
Can they make adult songs today? And I don't mean risque.
I don’t think that’s a break up song either.
That’s a satisfied in love song.
like
Molly Hatchet - Satisfied Man
Donna Fargo - Happiest Girl
You picked a bad time to leave me Lucille
Perhaps the saddest song is
Honey
but they didn’t really break up. the angles came and took her.
Some sunny day, baby
When everything seems okay, baby
You'll wake up and find that you're alone
'Cause I'll be gone
Gone, gone, gone
Really gone
Gone, gone, gone
'Cause you done me wrong
And everyone that you meet, baby
As you walk down the street, baby
Will ask you why you're walkin' all alone
Why you're on your own
Just say I'm gone
Gone, gone, gone
Gone, gone, gone
'Cause you done me wrong
Oh, now come on, yeah
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah
And if you change your way, baby
You might get back to stay, baby
You better hurry up if you don't wanna be alone
Or I'll be gone
Gone, gone, gone
Really gone
Gone, gone, gone
'Cause you done me wrong
You done me wrong, but I'm out
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Some sunny day, baby
When everything seems okay, baby
You'll wake up and find that you're alone
'Cause I'll be gone
Gone, gone, gone
Really gone
Gone, gone, gone
'Cause you done me wrong
Hmm, you done me wrong
Hmm, you done me wrong
Well, well, well, well, well, well, well yeah
“I ain’t that lonely yet” - Dwight Yoakum.
“Cry me a River”.
Not actually breakup songs, more like “too bad so sad, ain’t takin’ you back” songs.
