Russia averaged nearly 1,000 casualties per day in February, marking a new record, UK intel says

Russian forces suffered an average of 983 casualties per day in Ukraine in February, the highest since the war began, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in an intelligence update on Sunday.

The UK department said the increase in casualties, which included both killed and wounded soldiers, was likely due to "Russia's commitment to mass and attritional warfare."

In February, Russia finally captured the embattled Ukrainian town of Avdiivka, which sits just north of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.

War analysts have noted that Russia's tactics to take Avdiivka often involved "human wave" assaults, attempting to overwhelm Ukrainian positions with large numbers of Russian soldiers on foot.

One Ukrainian commander said in January that they could kill 40 to 70 Russian soldiers per day, but they would just send another wave the next day.

"Assault after assault, non-stop," he said.

The UK department said that Russia's tactics were "costly in terms of human life," but it noted that they had increased pressure on Ukrainian positions on the front lines.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously suggested that Russian commanders do not value the lives of their men and that they "conscript corpses."

Russia has likely had 355,000 personnel killed and wounded during the war, the MoD noted.

Here’s what Russia’s war losses look like in another way. Sobering.

This could stop if they just all went home tomorrow.

Or if the US encouraged Zelenskyy to negotiate with Russia. But Zelenskyy/Biden make too much $$$ by fighting on. Like Nikki Haley against Trump.

Only someone stupid would post, let alone believe, this propaganda.

Again, Mediazona and the BBC, PRO-UKRAINIAN sources, can only find this many total Russian causalities:

https://en.zona.media/article/2022/05/20/casualties_eng

44,654
Russian casualties corroborated by publicly available data as of 15 February
+ 1,194
last two weeks

Mediazona, in collaboration with BBC News Russian service and a team of volunteers, continues gathering information on the Russian military casualties in Ukraine. The figures we provide are sourced from publicly available information, including social media posts from family members, local media coverage, and official statements from local authorities.

Gee, and here the Ukraine ran out of ammo and is using poorly trained forcibly conscripted boys 15 years to men (w/wo disabilities) around 60 years of age. Now they say the world hangs in the balance because they need yet more of the US treasury and the delay is costing them lives...

This is trash propaganda - no the Ukrainians are not killing more and more etc. The article says ‘new record’ because they want the world to ignore the collapse of the Ukraine, the towns Russia is taking one after another, and instead GIVE UKRAINIAN LOSERS MORE MONEY! Because, NATO needs ‘new shoes’!

Nothing makes sense in this conflict, nothing except the money flow. Where did it go, what was it used for, and who got it?

The UAF is disintegrating so quickly on the front, Zelensky already wants to fire General Syrsky, after only being in command for two weeks.

Nobody knows the casualty figures outside each MoD.

None of this is happening.

God fights on the side of the biggest artillery.

Russia runs an annual draft and have for decades. The draftees serve 1 year and return to their civilian jobs as members of the Reserves. Over these decades their Reservist totals are about 10 million, of which they mobilized only 300,000.

It is not a dominant issue in Russia. You can find youtube videos of grocery stores all over Russia, full of food, and with many military age men.

You don’t have to believe propaganda of either side. Just go look at videos on youtube channels that were started before 2022. They have learned the youtube algorithm and don’t have any need to create propaganda.

Correct. Thank you.

Then, Ukraine and Russia both, need to work at forgiveness. I say that, because both parties have un-obtain-able expectations of continuing "friction."

For the sake of argument…let’s say Russia is indeed loosing 1000 soldiers per day. It shows how serious they are about this being an existential threat. It also shows the desperation of their resolve.

If they will do this, they will also push the nuclear button. Which should put fomenting Revolutions on their border in a new light!

I know this will not move the Zeepers, but it’s a fair bet any victory the US and NATO get in this conflict will be Pyrrhic at best with the devastating loss of many American and European cities.

I live in podunkville, so I will not feel the direct blasts. But perhaps the warmongers will?

Yeah, the news told us that Russia interfered in our election and stole it for Trump. They told us that Covid-19 was deadly. They told us the people who were dying were the unvaccinated. They tell us whites are racists. They tell us we are homophobic, transphobic. They tell us that Christian Nationalists are more dangerous than Al-Qaeda. They tell us that the Democrats are saving Democracy, and that Trump is trying to destroy Democracy.

And yet you still believe the press that have been lying for decades.

Some people just never learn.

The Russian army is at home in the oblasts of the Russian Federation - Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk, Luhansk, the Russian Republic of Crimea and the Russian federal city of Sevastopol.

Not in the Ukraine.

What Ivanivske doink?

“If they will do this, they will also push the nuclear button.”

But they haven’t.

Putin is a sociopath, who does not empathize with other’s suffering - but he does care about his own goat-smelling butt.

If he were to launch nuclear weapons, he personally would be near the top of the target list - as good as dead. Only a minority of the populations of Moscow or St. Petersburg would be likely to survive. The end of Russia, as a coherent nation.
