The Supreme Court is set to issue a ruling on Trump’s ballot eligibility after he challenged a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to bar him from the 2024 primary ballot.
In December the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified Trump from the 2024 ballot.
All 7 Colorado Supreme Court justices were appointed by Democrats – 3 of the justices dissented to the ruling.
The legal theories are based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.
Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.
Oral arguments before the Supreme Court on Trump’s ballot eligibility wrapped in early February.
The Supreme Court expressed skepticism as they heard arguments from Colorado lawyer Jason Murray. Even the liberal justices expressed concern.
“Why should a single state have the ability to make this determination not only for their own citizens but for the rest of the nation?” Justice Kagan asked.

I see it now on the Supreme Court’s website;
The Court will release an order list at 9:30 a.m.
The Court may announce opinions on the homepage beginning at 10 a.m. The Court will not take the Bench.
That means the justices will not be present on the bench and the orders and opinions will just be listed on their web page (and by the media that will be constantly refreshing the court’s page).
All I can say is the court better vote right on this or credibility for ANY court goes out the window forever.
If it’s not 9-0 id be surprised
It’s not enough to rejct the ruling. The state court must be sanctioned, and Trump’s legal fees awarded for a frivolous ruling that plainly ignored the clear text of the 14th Amendment.
(If it’s not 9-0 id be surprised)
Well you have to consider there’s a black woman on the bench who can’t define what a woman is so let that soak in.
Even if it had been an insurrection the 14th Amendment does not apply to ex Presidents.
That is true and a very important point. However the amendment does not apply to ex Presidents.
You forgot the transgender folk! Tsk, tsk.
I hope it will a victory. But Roberts will side with the libs nad it's possible Barrett might too.
If not then TX and FL should remove Biden from their ballots. Then let the leftist aholes whine.
That is also correct.
Strike two!
If Kagan sides with CO, then the wide Latina and Jackson with go with her.
A pleasant daydream:
After the court issues the obvious smackdown to these Stalinist Democrats, Schumer has a mental breakdown and is heard yelling over and over again, “Reap the whirlwind, they’re gonna reap the whirlwind!”, is dragged away and fitted for a straitjacket, then sedated.
It’s fun to daydream.
That was placed in there to disallow Democrats who fought the Civil War from the slave States and has nothing to do with with anything related to any time after that.
I gave up on predicting that the USSC would do what is constitutional or right. Trump’s last two picks have no love for the constitution. We can hope that they do the right thing, but there are no guarantees. But if they screw this one up then will be unleashing a crap storm in this country. And I would hope that the more conservative states would start kicking a lot of democrats off of the ballot.
No state should have the right to restrict the choices of the voters just because some dipwad state election official decides they don't like a particular candidate.
I also think the timing of this is meant to put this silly issue to bed before Super Tuesday as it is quite evident that Trump will run the table and pretty much sew up the nomination that evening.
I hope it is 9-0. Sick of hearing the Supreme Court is the trump protection court from idiots.
How could it be an insurrection when the participants had no weapons? Many were only in the vicinity of the building. They had to use cell phone data to find those in the area. That cell phone data, BTW, was provided by Bank of America.
We saved 15% with Geico?
Don’t forget the “wise” latina.
