Neither Timber Creek High School sophomore saw Keller ISD’s decision to cancel their performance of “The Laramie Project” — which included more than 70 students — coming. Students plan to voice their concerns to the school board Feb. 29.
“I was a little blindsided,” Sampson, 16, told the Fort Worth Report. “It was a role I really wanted to perform. I was a little dejected when I heard it was being canceled.”
“The Laramie Project” is a play that recounts the aftermath of the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student who was beaten and tied to a fence outside of Laramie in 1998.

A play based on a lie ought to be canceled.
So the play was about a gay drug dealer that was killed over drugs?
Over drugs.
Shhhh! No one is supposed to know that.
Saints Matthew Sheppard and William Floyd must not be maligned.
Get it right, you “hater.” Matthew was a gay, innocent little angel who was dragged out of his house and lynched, so the narrative goes.
Most people also don’t know he was a convicted child molester.
George Floyd, sorry. ^
They thought they found a way to sneak a bunch of faggotry into the show
Who's their Drama teacher?
What's wrong with classics like Wizard of Oz? Gone with the Wind? Or Annie?
They shouldn’t worry. A gay-affirming “church” will host their play.
Don’t know why this article is making me think of this scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzwcOp5ne6o
The play is by Moises Kaufman, a Tony nominated, gay, Jewish playwright.
I’m not impressed.
Killed by other faggots over drugs and blamed on normal folk.
Matthew Shepard was murdered by a former homosexual lover. HE WAS NOT MURDERED BY A CONSERVATIVE.
The sexual weirdo community knew the truth and put out and stood behind a lie because they wanted to express their hatred of white heterosexual men by ‘Jussie Smolletting’ them - a fake hate crime.
That’s how the play should be presented - as a lie by the sexual weirdo community against an innocent group of straight men.
A few years ago, a student at the high school I attended back in the 1970s, didn’t get the lead part in the annual school play.
His reaction to this was a little over the top.
He went out in his car (maybe his parents’ car, not sure) and crashed it into the brand-new library the town had recently built. He was killed as a result.
Before he did this, he made a video, blaming the chorus teacher, who had run the school play for decades, as had the chorus teacher who came before her. The student, now deceased, was a homosexual, and he blamed the chorus teacher for discriminating against him because of homophobia.
In the resulting brou-ha-ha, the chorus teacher was “placed on leave,” and hundreds of students and parents showed up at school board meetings to demand that the chorus teacher be reinstated, which she eventually was. Something like half the school board resigned.
There’s a lot more to the story, which I don’t tell here because I don’t want to identify the school.
That's how the play should be presented - tell the truth - tell the story of how a lie by the sexual weirdo community against innocent straight men was used to push a political agenda.
“So the play was about a gay drug dealer that was killed over drugs?”
And all the performance was going to do if history means anything was incite further problems from the school and the outside community. There has been an uptake in violence in our, so called, entertainment.

Ugh ... ping.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
