It sounds like one of those Dateline NBC shows, To Catch A Predator, and Israel said a food opportunity was opening up, but you had to be a Hamas criminal to qualify.

Then overwhelmed (coordinated fashion through UNWRA contacts inside- and yes, they are still there since helping coordinate 0ct 7 attacks, and are known).
There is much that can be said about Hamas setting up a tragedy for the world press. They do not care about any other “palestinians”. Check the IDF statements in order. Of course they are setting up the final on the tunnels in and out of Rafah. The massacre was set up by Hamas.

Simple answer....yes, they did.
Having spent time in Africa, AFG and IRQ, i can see exactly how this happened.
The food trucks pulled up and young healthy men rushed the trucks, grabbing whatever they could, shoving the women and children out of the way. From all accounts, many of these young men were Hamas and began shooting at people in their way. The trucks started to move away because of the craziness and even more rounds were fired.
Some of the rounds went toward the IDF and they returned fire, causing everybody in the crowd to go ballistic.
Yes, they absolutely deserve it. They need to walk out with their hands up and surrender. And they need to never ever under any circumstances approach Israeli military. Especially at 4:30 AM. All of Gaza is terrorist, terrorist enabler‘s, terrorist sympathizers. Walk out and surrender with hands in the air.
they are lucky they are still alive, I would have wiped them all out by now if I were running Israel.
