Wrong. Birdbrain didn’t campaign in NV and got 33%. She campaigned hard, regularly and spend millions in SC and almost got 40%. 33% just doesnt want to accept Trump and will vote for anyone. Birdbrains’ support is between 6 and 7 percent.
Im brimg harsh, i could double that...some of the 33% in NV must have liked her.

Over 40% in South Carolina and significant percentage elsewhere. Face it, there is a sizeable Not Trump Again vote. Can Trump make that up with independents and others, especially if he continues badmouthing everyone?
DeSantis had some of the most experienced folks in Republican politics as consultants and aides. Many of them had been doing this stuff for decades.
They threw in the towel because they had a full understanding of the territory.
What they understood was that either President Trump would be the nominee or someone popular with Trump delegates would replace him if he was not available.
Nikki is hated by Republicans—the longer she runs the worse it gets.
The DeSantis team did the focus group work and understood the facts on the ground.
Consider the alternative.
The Republicans should run the primaries and nominate whoever loses the most primaries because the losers attract disaffected voters they will need in the general election.

That’s why the Dems want her as the nominee. They know the Trump supporters won’t vote for her and Biden wins.
Since the “DeSantis team” has played a particularly stupid game of presidential poker. They are no longer in a position to seamlessly pick up the pieces should some “Black Swan” event happen. The good will they once had was spent foolishly and decisively in a negative way.
The big DeSantis mistake was getting in the race to begin with...
but what blindsided them (imho) was the Democratic lawfare that transformed President Trump from a potentially tough opponent to an Icon standing directly between Deep State political persecution and the average person.

Haley’s hanging around allows this narrative to be forwarded. It tells you about her willingness to accept, participate and empower it. In the end it reveals a very deep character flaw. She is greatly diminished because of it. It also diminishes those who support her.
