David Weiss, the US Attorney from Delaware, who torpedoed the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 to help elect Biden, and who crafted a Hunter Biden get-out-of-everything plea deal (before a judge blew it up) asked Merrick Garland to appoint him as Special Counsel - not to give him more authority (which he already had) but to allow him to destroy Alexander Smirnov, a long time FBI confidential informant who can potentially bring down the entire Obama/Biden operation.

It's no coincidence.
The deep state is so desperate to crush him that they arrested Smirnov for allegedly making false statements not once, but twice for exactly the same alleged crime.
Lawyers for Alexander Smirnov, the former FBI informant charged with feeding the bureau false corruption allegations against Joe Biden, say he’s been re-arrested just days after a magistrate judge in Las Vegas ordered him released from pretrial custody.
“On the morning of February 22, 2024, Mr. Smirnov was arrested for a second time — on the same charges and based on the same indictment,” his attorney David Chesnoff wrote in a six-page filing.

Weiss actually had the audacity to cite John Brennan's garbage ICA assessment.

Why? Most likely because Smirnov wasn't lying. Mind you, this is an informant who was vouched for in a bipartisan manner and has been a long time FBI source. Smirnov was also endorsed by Christopher Wray.

who is Smirnov? Is he Russian? Is he Ukrainian? We were told he carries and American and Israeli passport.
The FBI used him as a “trusted informant” for years, and his testimony, in pure Stasi style, was used to condemn and convict several people.
Suddenly now, he has information about Biden’s Ukraine corruption - and he has become a public enemy.

You'll never find that one on threads like these, decrying the actions of corrupt scum like David Weiss.
Corrupt prosecutors use this trick often.
To see just how badly these things can go, we need only go back to the takeover of Cuba by Fidel Castro and his band of merrymakers. Fulgencio Batista had control of an almost feudalistic regime, which generated all kinds of corrupt behavior. New York gangsters ran the gambling and much of the tourism business of Cuba, and treachery in high places was reminiscent of the worst days of Byzantium.
We have seen the growth of feudalism in this country, where there are two kinds of “justice”, one for the in-group, known largely as the Deep State, which is lenient almost to the point of “get out of jail free”. The other is for “enemies of the state”, which is just about anybody who calls attention to the misdeeds of the Deep State and any of the many minions who are under the protection of the Deep State. The letter of the law is twisted and perverted to sometimes come to be interpreted as the diametric opposite of its original intent, or if that cannot be done, the law is ignored altogether.
Castro took advantage of the laxness of law enforcement in Cuba in the period between 1953 and 1959, and eventually forced Batista into exile. Whereupon a new socialist order was proclaimed from the presidential palace in Havana, and the purge of the nation of its dissidents began, with almost certain imprisonment or even death were visited upon Castro’s version of “enemies of the state”. The Soviet Union was invited in, and this eventually led to the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962, when the world stood at the brink of nuclear war. When it was resolved (sort of), the Soviets retreated from their hold on Cuba, but then Cuba became the center for terrorism in many places in Africa and South America, even changing some of the social and economic factors of those regions to pro-Soviet regimes.
The Deep State could care less who steps in their line of fire.
