I’m totally confused. What and why were they charged?

Francisco said that Pahlawan, Mazhar, Ullah and Muhammed all made false statements when questioned by the MSST. All four men were charged with making false statements to federal law enforcement agents, while Pahlawan, as captain of the dhow, also was charged with transporting explosives.

A 9mm charge to the temple should do.
To: Red Badger
Well, I’m sure the fact that, three out of the four were named “Muhammad” had nothing to do with it.. (spit)

How the heck are what I assume to be foreign nationals on the high seas being charged in federal courts?

LOL. Nothing does more to undermine the credibility of the U.S. in global affairs than a military force run by lawyers … courtesy of Lindsey Graham and Ron DeSantis.

Has their group declared war? Were they in uniform?
What about our Special Forces blending into the populace? I guess the Geneva Convention doesn’t apply...not that the enemy in such places abides by the GC.

Yeah, that’s the way to get Donald Trump re-elected; criticize those who served.

You mean military lawyers? Are they above criticism?

How can they charge someone with lying to a federal law enforcement officer when they were not within their jurisdiction? This is CYA for a screw up.

Exactly. Imagine being the family member of a Navy SEAL who lost his life trying to arrest some sand mutant in the Middle East.

Exactly Federal officers have no jurisdiction out side the country.
They most likely say well it was on a US warship so they do.
To: Red Badger
Whatever happens to them, the US will provide the cash to pay the families of the mohammed’s very well.
To: Red Badger
Which adds to the mystery of how these highly trained Navy seals died. Meanwhile, Houthi rebels shot down $30 million US drone in Yemen, and the Yemeni Navy’s seizes Remus 600, an advanced American unmanned submarine. Iran and Putin happy. Unless China outbids them. But neither use feelings-based pronouns so no need for concern.
USA is dying.

The SEALS may have been killed by the crew during boarding. It would be "unpleasant" for the administration to have combat losses so they could have listed the SEALs as "lost at sea".
Since there is no declared war, that would be considered murder. Only a theory though, there are many others.

We should just apologize immediately to them Make them citizens. Give them 20 million dollars each. Help them open the ice cream shop they always dreamed about running in North Carolina And of course allow 40 to 50 members of each of their extended families to come live with them in the U.S.
it will just save time in the long run to do it right away.

“ were swept overboard while seizing Iranian-made weapons in the Arabian Sea”
That’s rather vague
To: Red Badger
Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers and Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram were swept overboard while seizing Iranian-made weapons in the Arabian Sea, according to a DOJ release. Ingram and Chambers were declared dead by the United States Navy on Jan. 22.Swept overboard - or thrown overboard? There were no other U.S. military personnel in the area as backup for these two guys?
