Manhattan DA responds to Maricopa County Attorney’s refusal to extradite murder suspect

A day after Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced that a suspect in two Arizona stabbing investigations won’t be extradited in a New York murder case, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg held his own news conference to call out the decision as “political grandstanding.”

……

Raad Almansoori, 26, is accused of stabbing two women in separate incidents in Phoenix and Surprise last weekend. On Saturday, police say he stabbed a woman during an attempted carjacking near 19th and Glendale avenues. Then, on Sunday, he allegedly followed an employee into the bathroom of a McDonald’s in Surprise and stabbed her multiple times.

After he was tracked down and arrested later that day in Scottsdale, Almansoori reportedly admitted to killing a woman at a New York City hotel earlier in the month. Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, 38, was found dead from blunt force trauma inside a room at the SoHo 54 hotel in Manhattan on Feb. 8. He’s also a suspect in other cases in Florida and Texas.

During a news conference at Surprise police headquarters on Wednesday, the county attorney said her office would not be extraditing him to New York and that he would remain in Arizona to face his alleged crimes in this state first.

“We’re going to keep him here. There’s mandatory prison sentences,” Mitchell said during Wednesday’s briefing. “Having observed the treatment of violent criminals in the New York area by the Manhattan D.A., I think it’s safer to keep him here and in custody so that he cannot be out doing this to individuals in our state or county or in the United States.”

Screw Bragg, he can drop the murder charges against Raad Almansoori in New York after he finishes his sentence in Arizona, if he is still alive.

Seems to me Arizona has grounds to prosecute this guy, if New York wants a shot after Arizona is finished, that’s a different story. Plus, I think New York might be under different obligations if the guy was convicted.

Arizona needs to extradite Bragg for an extended incarceration for endangering the citizens of Ariz.

Convict him in AZ first and then he can face trial in New York.
Bragg cannot release a felon with a pending sentence

Ah, but on social media (Reddit and Quora and ex-Faxebook for example), writers have told “He did nothing wrong in Arizona”, “they cannot hold him because he is an innocent man”, and “He committed no crimes in Maricopa County - They can’t hold him.”

Seems like the liberal slaves have been told their talking points. By somebody.

Now, all we have to do wait for their national media to start saying the same things. In 5, 4, 3, 2 ....

Screw Bragg

The same for New York. We shouldn't extradite anyone there, We shouldn't visit there, we shouldn't buy anything from there. And if they force Trump to sell his real estate there we abolutely need to boycott any company that even bids on his real estate.

AZ said he would be extradited to NY after convictions. According to agreements NY would be legally obligated to enforce AZ sentencing requirements.

They always accuse their opponents of what they are doing.

Of course the word “legally” implies nothing in New York. Just because they should do something legally does not mean they will. In fact they probably won’t. Perhaps this criminal is a friend of Obama’s sent into Arizona on an assignment that went wrong.

This sort of reminds me of the Thomas Grasso case back in the 90's. Grasso murdered his neighbor in Oklahoma, but fled to New York and subsequentially murdered someone there.

Knowing that Oklahoma had the death penalty, Mario Cuomo refused to extradite Grasso to Oklahoma to face punishment.

That all ended when Pataki became governor of NY, and gave up Grasso to Oklahoma, where thankfully he was found guilty and executed.
