Republican Senators Urge McConnell to Ensure Mayorkas Impeachment Trial

Thirteen Republican senators are urging GOP leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to force a formal impeachment trial of President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas.

Mayorkas was impeached on February 13 for refusing to enforce the nation’s border laws. But Democrats — and some pro-establishment GOP senators — are hinting they will ignore the House’s indictment and will not conduct Mayorkas’ trial in the Senate.

The senators’ letter to McConnell said:

We call on you to join our efforts to jettison this approach by Democrats to shirk their constant duty, ensure that the Senate conducts a proper trial and that every Senator, Republican and Democrat, adjudicates this matter when the Senate returns.

If they choose to violate the constitution and do not try Mayorkas, Republicans should put them on notice ALL subsequent impeachments by a Democrat majority house going forward will be ignored and not tried in a Republican majority Senate so when Trump is elected and the 17 impeachments the House queues up will not be tried and treated as the political theatre they are

I’m at a loss trying to understand why the likes of McConnell and Graham are still Senators, let alone in positions of leadership. They are perfect illustrations of why term limits are needed to suppress the D.C. corruption process that turns so many well-meaning people bad.

Then you have Schmuck Schumer who’s always been openly evil but gets a “bye” being a New York Democrat who back-stabbed his way to the top.

It bugs the hell out of me that procedure has these people addressed as “Honorable” when they are remotely far from the term.

What will Mitch do?

What would John McCain do?

One wonders if Mister McConnell views us Conservative constituents as somehow naive and annoying.

To quote a gif I saw recently: the best we can do is a military tribunal followed quickly by execution.

This is a beautiful thing!
Chuckie is screwed either way but he has decided he will take the hit for ignoring the constitution.
The hit for the rodents failing to convict would be bigger.
I think Chickie is right.
