The Kremlin has fired the commander of its Black Sea Fleet as punishment for a series of humiliating losses to Ukraine, according to Russian war bloggers.
The bloggers said that Admiral Viktor Sokolov was replaced by chief of staff Vice Admiral Sergey Pinchuk after Ukraine sank the Russian warship Caesar Kunikov with a sea drone last week.
It was the latest in a series of victories for Ukraine, which has a tiny navy, against Russia's much bigger Black Sea fleet.
"It seems that it had become impossible to ignore the latest heavy losses of the fleet," the War Informant channel said.
UK military intelligence on Sunday said that Sokolov's dismissal was "highly likely to be a result of Ukraine's success in sinking various ships under his command."
Ukraine said it had destroyed around 30% of Russia's fleet, enabling it to prevent Russia from blockading Ukrainian ships transporting grain and limiting the ability of warships to strike targets in Ukraine. The grain trade is a crucial part of Ukraine's economy.

the admiral should find a good resume builder and create a new personality.
Unlike the US that only seemed to remove general officers for not being woke enough. One sure way to keep your position or get promoted is to start wearing lipstick and dresses. Nobody even got a nasty worded letter in their file for little things like the loss of Afghanistan.
FREEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!!
(((PING!)))
Join and laugh!!
Sure, and what happened in Avdiivka was even funnier than this.
All new Uke recruits should be shown the bottom of the graves so they can see what happened to the previous ones. Oh hah hah hah.
The most important news to Americans.
“LOLs” about foreign war and death.
We’re all looking forward to many more pos Russian warships being sunk
And the great thing is, since Turkey won’t allow any new ones in, as new ships are sunk the Fleet’s effectiveness goes down
30% of the Black Sea Fleet sunk already, more to come!
Notice how the Russian troll farm seems to be working in overdrive. So much fun to see how their heads explode and the childishness of their responses.
And we can safely assume that there will be thousand more “Uke graves” to gaze at.
Sad but true.
Those boats are all Ukraine has to show for it. A real pity.
Why, it’s almost like there was a carefully-coordinated disinformation campaign being run on FR!

And here, are you referring to neocons who align with the WEF??
Avid Daily Mail readers?
FON (Friends of Nuland)?
Team Alex Soros?
But then these are all the same team…
Why the /sarc? It appears to be true! 😂 ☮️✌️
” according to Russian war bloggers. The bloggers said”
The new admiral is shaking in his boots knowing he is totally unable to defend his fleet in the confines of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azof.
The only certain defense is to completely withdraw.
A few more years of this, and Russia’s Black Sea Fleet will consist of nothing but a couple of leaky rowboats and a whole lot of dead sailors
Putin’s legacy - lots of broken families in Russia, with very little to show for all the misery
That’s not a good leader
:(
He should stay away from windows in tall buildings....
The Russian Navy has little role in the Ukie ground war. Besides launching missiles deep into Ukraine territory, their role is minor. I know it “ feels good” to see a ship or two sunk, but losing Marioupol, Bakmut, and Avidiivka with the accompanying depletion ( slaughter ) of Ukie ground forces is deciding the outcome….Vlad still holds all the cards.
At least 20% of Ukraine's territory (much of it rife with resources) and the demilitarization of a hostile neighbor (which had gotten to a point of openly flouting its status as a military and economic proxy for Russia's geopolitical rivals) must not count for much if you think that's "very little".

Actually this is long overdue. I suspect the new commander will be more proactive in leading his forces to create and take countermeasures. Props to the responsible Ukrainians for their ingenuity.
