For the first time in my life, I’m now beginning to think Britain is finished
The Telegraph via MSN ^ | February 15, 2024 | Allister Heath

Britain’s decline over the past 25 years has been staggeringly rapid. Almost everything is getting worse, and almost nothing is getting better. Our public and private institutions are broken, presided over by an incompetent, selfish and narcissistic ruling class. Living standards, when adjusted properly for living and property costs, are declining.

Even the simplest things don’t work any longer. Queuing, scarcity and congestion are rife, our infrastructure is embarrassingly poor, and the honest and hardworking face endless bureaucratic battles to obtain what they are due. Free riding, crime, disorder, fraud, littering and generalised rule-bending are rife, and all too often tolerated by apathetic citizens and an indifferent state. Britain’s residual virtues, our individualism, independence of mind, tolerance and openness, uniquely appealing features of our national character, are fading.

Like a frog in boiling water, few saw the full scale of the decline coming until it was too late, and those who did were ridiculed by the bien-pensant. Yet even in 2024, when millions now realise that Britain is on the wrong track, there is no hope of meaningful improvement. The Tories have been abysmal, but Labour will be even worse: Keir Starmer will double down on the social-democratic and culturally nihilistic policies tested to destruction by the Conservatives.

This world-wide UN migration program seems to be more a means to spread and grow the power of Islam. It also appears only China and NK recognize the danger and refuse to participate.

It doesn’t take much imagination to picture the goal of the UN migration program.

The UK was finished 20 years ago. Now its just in the body’s decaying stage before it turns into a bare skeleton.

I’ve mentioned here before, I was born and raised in England during the ‘70s & ‘80s. They may not have guns but it is a violent place. They turned from Christianity a long time ago. I was one of very few that grew up going to church. The mentality of my peers was baffling, the absence of meaningful reasoning was rife.

That void was filled with an arrogance and hubris that led to the ‘all cultures are equal’ conclusion. Their ‘multi-culti’ policies have gone so far, these imports are deeply embedded into every agency, the police, and government offices.

It’s too late. There’s few that realize that the decline began with turning away from Christianity. Atheism has no answer to Islam, speak out against it and the machine will target you and your ‘racism’.

Some have tried to raise the red flag, like Tommy Robinson - ridiculed as ‘far right racist extremist’ for years, for only pointing out what he Koran actually says and the problem of young white girls being gang raped by a certain demographic. I think he’s recently come to the conclusion about Christianity, it’s just not a popular thing to call yourself there - even when I lived there. I recently saw him debating a Muslim, the Muslim asked him if he was Christian, he answered with the affirmative. Interesting - because most that have followed him so far aren’t. Maybe somebody like him, having the ears of all remaining working-class patriots, is their last chance - but they’ll have to realize the fundamental problem, the churches are empty.

“In the 20th century the main effort was to eliminate the colonies.”

The West has purposely facilitated its colonization by the 3rd world.

The West has purposely facilitated its colonization by the 3rd world.

And they've conditioned people to accept it, because 'we had it coming'.

I based my comparison of London to where I was living at the time (and still do).

I guess I have higher expectations and standards than you do.

No offense.

What a plan. Where is America on that plan?

A 5 at least. 6 and 7 in our cities.

It was in 1996 that citizens voluntarily voted in gun control.

That was the beginning of the end for the Land Down Under.

I’m currently re-watching Yes Minister.

Funny. Ha-ha. Yet was this a comedy or a documentary?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes_Minister

This show seems to be the precursor to Great Britain today the way 1984 was a precursor to the USA.

Old Britain would have modernized its industry and either held on to some of its colonies or ended up running Europe, but New Britain didn’t have that kind of energy.

Australians have an odd psyche toward the U.S. Many of the older people I met told me wistfully that Australia always followed the U.S. in all things eventually. Although, I told them that they should not. In contrast, the younger Australians always seemed too smug about their culture as compared to ours, feeling it was obviously superior in almost every way. Of course, I felt otherwise, and soon discovered the best and most effective retort. I would cite the Bruen decision, telling them that I had an absolute constitutional right to walk down the street with a rifle slung over my shoulder. Their reaction was priceless: they simply could not process that level of individual freedom. It was like asking a calculator to divide by zero, it just boggled the system and would not compute.

Enoch Powell warned his fellow Brits and they didn’t want to hear it. That was in the 1960s. The “Rivers of blood” speech.

In California we are decades ahead of them on the road to destruction. No one wanted to listen to our warning with Prop 187.

Travel is what you make of it. My wife and I went just before covid hit and had a wonderful time. Walked from Kensington palace to tower of London. Road the train to Windsor and cambridge. All of it enjoyable.

If your old and new bracket the World Wars, I expect you are right. The 20th century largely sapped the life out of Britain and much of Europe.

Still, I was thinking, the other day, that in the days of sailing ships, England could be, and was, a mighty power. Once rule of the seas shifted to using natural resources from within your own land, I expect England’s heyday was largely over.
